Hello. Lachlan ("Lock-lan") is a lovely Scottish name which had a major popularity surge in Australia a few years ago. I am a Kindergarten teacher and taught a lot of Lachlan's at one stage but it seems to have lessened in popularity now. I think it would be a great choice for someone with Scottish ancestry.

At least in the Southern US, it's "HELL-in-uh." There's a Arkansas city by that name near Tunica, Mississippi, and that's how it's pronounced.
However, I would not be surprised to meet someone who pronounced it differently.

The one I know is like Hell-uh-nuh. I've met others who are huh-LAY-nuh. I pronounce it how they want me to (or try). If I had a kid named Helena I'd go with Hell-uh-nuh.

The famous city in Montana is Hell-LEEN- nuh.
Hispanic people with that name say "Ell-LANE-nuh" (silent first H).

Good question. A lot of people mispronounce this name. It is pronounced "Helena".

1) Hell (as in... all HELL broke loose)
2) N (as in: "this is the letter... N!"
3) A (as in: this is A nice day!)
Say these things fast, and there you go!
