I can relate to it well, as it has happened to me several times over the years. Trying to breathe deeply actually hurt.

There may be other possibilities, but in my experience it was always caused by a misaligned spine. Each time it occurred a single visit to a chiropractor relieved it immediately and completely.

I assume you mean you have pain across you mid back. Was there an injury? Does it hurt on each inhalation? You need to give more information.
