Vista has proven to lock out customers from their older programs, my boss is one...Didn't get paid until he figured it out. He's planning on reloading XP.
Just be glad your computer Stopped you from fully loading it.
Because when you have a successful install.....there is NO UNinstall button or process
You end up reformatting and completely reloading all your old software......

Depends what windows you are running. The older the OS the less chance of upgrading to Vista.

If you are running XP and it runs well why upgrade to the latest experiment on conning people by Microsoft, then you would need to buy the latest upgrade and line their pockets more. Seriously consider Linux as a good operating system as their latest build is now out and free or a small donation for a cd rather than downloading.

Trevor, if you have vista you need some serious psychiatric help. But seriously dont bother with it as it has limited use to most of us and programmers are not flocking to it to make programmes for it to run. yes it looks flash but is useful as a chocolate teapot and has more ssecurity holes than a collander..... do you really want to be that poorly protected?
Even the great micro$oft admits that it is flawed.... and a newer update is being released in 2 yrs time...... it is just a way for the Micro$oft co. to print more money. I would update to XP with service pack added.... far more useable at the present moment.

Why bother, it's cack. If you really have to be Windows stick to XP, wait for Service Pack 3 to come out and stop thinking because it's new it has to be better.
Gave up Micro$oft for Linux and simply love it, stop wasting your money!

You probably don't have enough memory. you need at least 1 gig of ram (2 gig recommended) to run vista.
