I asked a question yesterday and some guy told me his religion is "Kama Sutra"

I know that Sutra has something to do with Indian religions, because Buddhism uses that term.
So my guess would be it branched off of hinduism right?

so what are the teachings of this religion? the guy said that his god is Love, so it sounds like a very kind and caring religion, either that or it is a religion a pervert would like :) lol

thanks!

It's an ancient sex manual. I don't think it actually is a religion in an of itself.

I am not familiar with the religious aspects of it (if there are any) The Kama Sutra is a book of more than a hundred different sexual positions that was published world wide many many years ago.

I doubt anyone doesn't know what Kama-sutra is! It is a type of scripture though directed at those completely entangled in desire to enjoy sex life, with the orientation to uplift them a little bit to a higher level of consciousness when they will start being able to practice real spiritual life.

kama sutra is a book on sex, human intercourse, which was written in india 2000 years ago.this book outlines various sexual positions and lists over 100 positions and how sex helps mind and body. this book is a forgotten part of the hindu culture of india. and that guy whom you met was joking it is just like somebody saying that sex is the name of their religion.

actually,i don't think Buddhism uses it in quite the same sense.kama means sensuous and sexual love.if that guy was referring to it in the meaning of "pure asexual" love, then that's not the same thing as referred to in Buddhism

oh i misread you,yes Buddhism uses the word sutra.this means "discourses".this is advice that the Buddha gave to various people, and whenever a person with a similar problem showed up,those advices were repeated to them.
