From what I can see in the photo, the glasses seem to be quite thin and thus may be of low diopteric power. Thus she can probably get around without them.
Secondly if a person wears glasses low on the nose, out of the actual line of sight, then they're NOT using them, since they're not looking THROUGH them but OVER them.
I personally think she get around without them.

odds are good she needs the glasses, I've only known 1 person who has ever worn glasses and didn't need them....she stopped after 2 weeks because they annoyed her.
