verse 32

yajnaih sankirtana-prayair

In the age of Kali, intelligent persons perform congregational chanting to worship the incarnation of Godhead who constantly sings the names of Krishna. Although His complexion is not blackish, He is Krishna Himself. He is accompanied by His associates, servants, weapons and confidential companions.

Srimad Bhagavatam, Canto 12: The Age of Deterioration Chapter 2: The Symptoms of Kali-yuga

SB 12.2.1: Sukadeva Gosvami said: Then, O King, religion, truthfulness, cleanliness, tolerance, mercy, duration of life, physical strength and memory will all diminish day by day because of the powerful influence of the age of Kali.

SB 12.2.2: In Kali-yuga, wealth alone will be considered the sign of a man's good birth, proper behavior and fine qualities. And law and justice will be applied only on the basis of one's power.

SB 12.2.3: Men and women will live together merely because of superficial attraction, and success in business will depend on deceit. Womanliness and manliness will be judged according to one's expertise in sex, and a man will be known as a brahmana just by his wearing a thread.

SB 12.2.4: A person's spiritual position will be ascertained merely according to external symbols, and on that same basis people will change from one spiritual order to the next. A person's propriety will be seriously questioned if he does not earn a good living. And one who is very clever at juggling words will be considered a learned scholar.

SB 12.2.5: A person will be judged unholy if he does not have money, and hypocrisy will be accepted as virtue. Marriage will be arranged simply by verbal agreement, and a person will think he is fit to appear in public if he has merely taken a bath.

SB 12.2.6: A sacred place will be taken to consist of no more than a reservoir of water located at a distance, and beauty will be thought to depend on one's hairstyle. Filling the belly will become the goal of life, and one who is audacious will be accepted as truthful. He who can maintain a family will be regarded as an expert man, and the principles of religion will be observed only for the sake of reputation.

SB 12.2.7: As the earth thus becomes crowded with a corrupt population, whoever among any of the social classes shows himself to be the strongest will gain political power.

SB 12.2.8: Losing their wives and properties to such avaricious and merciless rulers, who will behave no better than ordinary thieves, the citizens will flee to the mountains and forests.

SB 12.2.9: Harassed by famine and excessive taxes, people will resort to eating leaves, roots, flesh, wild honey, fruits, flowers and seeds. Struck by drought, they will become completely ruined.

SB 12.2.10: The citizens will suffer greatly from cold, wind, heat, rain and snow. They will be further tormented by quarrels, hunger, thirst, disease and severe anxiety.

SB 12.2.11: The maximum duration of life for human beings in Kali-yuga will become fifty years.

SB 12.2.12-16: By the time the age of Kali ends, the bodies of all creatures will be greatly reduced in size, and the religious principles of followers of varnasrama will be ruined. The path of the Vedas will be completely forgotten in human society, and so-called religion will be mostly atheistic. The kings will mostly be thieves, the occupations of men will be stealing, lying and needless violence, and all the social classes will be reduced to the lowest level of sudras. Cows will be like goats, spiritual hermitages will be no different from mundane houses, and family ties will extend no further than the immediate bonds of marriage. Most plants and herbs will be tiny, and all trees will appear like dwarf sami trees. Clouds will be full of lightning, homes will be devoid of piety, and all human beings will have become like asses. At that time, the Supreme Personality of Godhead will appear on the earth. Acting with the power of pure spiritual goodness, He will rescue eternal religion.

Well this is a trick question I think age 33 is just wrong I do understand why they say that age it just does not make sense I mean why not 32 or 34 it is all in the perception of the times if you read it it says that they asked people over 40 and a lot of times people do not remember stuff that happened over a long period. To do this study correctly they should have asked a lot more people and I will bet that that they did not consider other criteria like gender and ethnicity into the solution so their survey is flawed. In fact unless the survey did provide it, but not the news report mention in the post you do not even know how they go the age of 33 as the happiest age was it by: Mean (add up all the numbers and then divide by the number of numbers); Median (the "middle" value in the list in numerical order it is the middle value); Mode (the value that occurs most often). I would say that a lot of people will say at least 5 -10 years ago it was the happiest time of their life. I do think that there are different times that a person can be the happiest in their life as people do tend to forget and feel again very happy at certain times. First I think age 5 and below most of the time people do not remember this age very clearly so it may not be mentioned that often but it an age where you have no worries and you living for the day making it my opinion the happiest time of your life afterwords you start school and pressure is placed on you to start a life. Then there is the age of 16 for a lot of girls it is their sweet 16 party and a life changer as you are now more trusted with responsibilities by your parents and you now can get a drivers license making it the time you have what every teenager wants the ability to have Freedom to go where you want since you can drive there yourself. At this age you have you first serious relationship and most likely the first time you had sexual intercourse. Then there is the age of 18 you get this time when you first vote and are considered an adult. Age 21 when you are legal to drink makes a lot of people happy. As for me I was happiest around the age of 16 I was still young and happy just graduated from High School had my first sexual intercourse with a girl I liked and was able to Drive whenever and wherever I needed to go. Went to college at 16 and had a blast.

I know that which is written in Srimadbhagvatam-:
kalyug is the age of quarrel
hypocrisy is rampant
people resort to deciet and trickery to earn money.income of most people is based on lies and swindling
those who have money are looked up to as great, intelligent and skillful. those who dont have much money arent respected and are considered worthless

people are jealous and lack compassion.
the age of man will keep dimnishing

there will be illicit sex. near the end of kalyuga men and women will live together with consent only and marriage will be given no importance

trees and plants will dwindle. and herbs etc will not be much effective

women will be short and fat

people will be diseased, there will be a lot of stress among people and lack of mental peace
the shudras will become rulers

most of the brahmins will not be pure and pious

there will be a number of religions

dharma( righteousness) will be the least.so will be charity.people wil be very materialistic and many will be atheists

people will not have much intelligence and age wont be more than 100 years.

people will go to far off pilgrimages

all rulers will be thieves.
the government will plunder people through taxes etc so much that the people will run away and hide in the hills and the forests. they will have to eat leaves and barks

people who dont know anything about truth will wear clothes of sanyaasis, be seated on a high place and preach religion.there wil be plenty of such cheats or bogus gurus.
people will not respect family values and later the institution of family will not be more than a husband and a wife

there will be famines, droughts and other natural calamities

Near the end of Kalyuga Lord Kalki will come through aakash marga riding on a sky blue colored horse. he will kill all corrupt rulers and re establish Sanatana Dharma in the world.
He will give the rule of a world to a highly truthful and opulent man who still resides somewhere in India and this will mark beginning of satyuga.

in the degraded age of kalyuga bhakti will be the only means for people to save themselves

the above are the few Iremember there is more detail in Srimadbhagvatam. And yes many of these things are already happening because the Shaastras never prove incorrect

yeah all the puranas mentioned about the kaliyuga and itz aspects. Some like bhavishya, bhagavata, shiv puran have mentioned atrocities of kaliyuga and one the most important advantage that is naam japa is also mentioned in these.

There is a story in Shiv maha Puran, When Asuras from Tripurs (ONE OF GOLD, ONE SILVER AND ONE IRON) started destroying dharma from earth. They have one good habit. They were the follower of shiv bhole. When devtas explained that to Sri Vishnu. Then Sri Vishnu sent his two agents to preach pakhand shastra to those asuras. And finally Shiv Shankar destroyed then with their tripuras. Then the agent sent by Lord Vishnu came to him and said about the destruction of tripuras and demanded place for thierself. Then Bhagvan Vishnu said that when Kaliyuga came you will live in earth and ur pakhand shastra will be taught their.

Now a days u can see Pakhand everywhere. But it is a begining and the climax is far away.

There are some efforts to use cryptological analysis of the Bible..

In the Old Testament original language version with the text arranged what is believed to be in the original pattern of characters.... they found references that equate to a prediction of the September 11 World Trade Center terrorist attace... including reference to the use of aircraft.

Just about every prophetic passage in the Bible could be talking about today depending on interpretation. If you have read the "Left Behind" series of books, you will see an excellent example of interpreting scriptual passages to fit today's society. They sold millions and millions of copies. This is not to say that the interpretations are correct but it is one interpretation of their meaning. Good reading though. I highly recommend it. Exciting and well written.

Shri Bhagwat wrote about the present Age (Kaliyuga) in the episode of Parikshit

It had thousands of years ago told what will happen in Kaliyuga and surprisingly most of things are happening in same way....for example it is written that :-

=>False guru will teach false truths
=>family members will kill each other
=> intoxication (wine drugs) will be popular
=> husbands & wives will have no respect for each other
=> men & women will have lustful thoughts and deeds
=> Small girls will become pregnant.
=> gurus will not be respected
=> famine and storms will come frequently
=> sin will increase and good people will be insulted openly
=>people will remain in mental tension.
etc etc..

there are many and almost all of them we can see today

Some incidents of Kaliyuga is also mentioned in Bhavishya puran
