certain infections can induce 2nd trimester miscarriage or stillbirth such as toxiplasmosis, however its rare. i think mostly it would be due to trauma or injury to the abdomen, ie car crash etc. but sometimes it just happens and there is no expanation for it.

Most miscarriages are caused by flaws in the embryo/fetus and not by anything the mom did. Falls and things can cause miscarriages but like I said most are caused by a baby that could never have lived anyway.

I had two misscarriages, both discovered during the second trimester due to reasons stated by "toopregnant". Normal daily activities that was already part of your routine should not be of concern if you are healthy. Please speak to your OB if you have any concerns. I wish you the best!
