There's no need for God to hide from everyone, when he can just show himself so everyone can see and believe.

If God made a cameo appearance once in a while, wouldn't that make it easier for all the people, believers and nonbelievers, to judge for themselves and choose to follow him? Some people say they do see God and hear him speak to them, but isn't what they see and hear subjective and their own interpretation of God?

You can't see what does not exist.

Religion is a man's creation not a God's creation. Priests cannot prove God's existence so they rely on your faith and naivety in order to accumulate power and money. That's why they put Heaven and Hell in a place no-one can go and come back to tell. You may have heard of this place. It is called the Afterlife. Even if someone came back from the dead to tell us what is really going on, no-one would believe him. This means that either there is no God or we are too small for him to acknowledge us.

And why doesn't he set the record straight?

I think all religions are man made of course. I think God created our souls, and is still creating souls. I believe that we live many lives. Before we come here, we have a specific purpose for coming. There is some lesson that we desire to experience.

We choose our parents and many of the events and people in our life before we get here. Not entirely of course, because we are susceptible to our own free will and the free will of others.

So God does not interfere with us here. We are on our own although I think we have guides to help us.

How then would the blind respond to such a sight? I cannot see sound travel, but I can hear the echo.

It is of human nature to be skeptical. People see things differently. Interpret things differently. This is not "magic" we are speaking of, it is God.

Faith can be felt and believed by all.

Because with out faith it is impossible to please God.

You have to have faith to seek God. What would be the point of seeking after God if God is there right in your face and you can see him everyday? It would be like a parent looking down on you. You would most definitely rebel. This is the Lords way of testing your love for him. He needs not to show himself, you just have to look around and look inside yourself and you will see him everywhere.

Also, I agree with Tomforbucks. Adam and Eve spoke with God daily. God chilled with them all the time. They still were skeptical and did not follow him. Faith is stronger than just seeing. Because you are believing without seeing.

He does...constantly to those that believe...and if people are watching, they will see the change in people when they are a follower of God. Also, the Bible tells us that he is the creator of all things so everytime we look at ourselves in the mirror or see a butterfly or a baby or any other natural thing, we should see God.

I understand what you are saying...you simply want him to appear before you in a form that you would instantly recognize as that of God. The question I have to ask you then is.....what does God look like? What would you acknowledge?

From my experience, everything that makes me know that God is alive and well is always being explained away by man as some kind of a coincidence or whatever.

You must be new to Yahoo! answers. Don't you know that even when you present people with a long list of evidence they are still going to believe whatever they want to believe? Stick around, there are people like that all over this site.

Then, how would God know who are the real believers and those who have an "authentic" faith?

Remember that absence of proof is not proof of absence.

He shows himself all the time....he sent his son Jesus to earth as a man by a virgin! Also, it's called faith.

Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1

Religion is not based on Faith.
It is based on ignorance and lack of reason.

Faith may be defined briefly as an illogical belief in the occurrence of the improbable....
A man full of faith is simply one who has lost (or never had) the capacity for clear & realistic thought.
He is not a mere imbecile: he is actually ill.
