Because ummmm, I think I may need that part replaced as well but I read that the y pipe would connect all the way to the exhaust manifold (eliminating that precat??). The Warpspeed Y-Pipe is the one in question.

The bank 2 cat will still be there why would you want to remove only one pre cat? Emission controls really don't hurt the maxima's performance. Take down the manifolds and find headers for both banks then Warspeed Y pipe a couple or three O2 simulators to keep the check engine light off. Then a larger exhaust system. After that your off to the races! You might trim 2 seconds off your Elapsed Time at the 1/4 mile manual trans car

i may eliminate the precat but it won't eliminate the need for the precat. the precat is a necessary part of the cars emission contol system. the car will not be able to be properly 'smogged' if it is removed.
