Whether he is right or not as it concerns Gods love and homosexuals, he is a vulgar, uncivil, rabble rouser that is certainly not bringing glory to the name of Christ.
He is most certainly NOT doing the work of God's Kingdom.
Perhaps a more appropriate sign would be "God hates Pastor Phelps"....hmm just perhaps?

I have yet to see anyone actually practice the "hate the sin love the sinner" ideal I keep hearing about. Most evangelicals I've heard speak can't seem to get past the first half of it.
As for Phelps, the man is both an attentiopn whore and a sociopath, and possibly deeply in the closet himself.

Anyone who preaches Hate and Anger is straying from the Bible.... way off even. If a Pastor or Church Leader, preaches and seems to be the total opposite of how Jesus was, how can he or she be doing the right thing?
Isn't Christianity based on the new covenant forged between mankind and Jesus? If Jesus didn't act nor react in such a disgraceful way... by whose authority does any human preacher have to override and undermine the Patriach of the Religion itself? Unless of course that Pastor thinks and feels he is BETTER than Jesus....

I wouldn't even dare to make the comparison to him and evangelical Christians. All he does is give Christianity a bad name.
We're not to condone what he does, or him personally. We're to fight against those things that are contrary to the will of God. I don't like the man whatsoever. Until he repents and asks forgiveness for the evil that he does, then he is still an enemy, and against the will of God.

I think he's trying to make a living.
I think he's false as a prophet whilst trying to make a profit.
Those who use the word of God to make a buck is damned anyways... so I'd be VERY careful if I was him.
Who trusts telly Evangelists??? They're all in it for the Show. I know it's not PCorrect, But I don't trust ANYONE who commercializes The Word of God.

Love the sinner, hate the sin!
If you are not a Christian and someone comes up to you and says "you are going to hell, you sinner, you suck, you're an abomination..." are you going to follow them to church? Probably not.
I don't agree with homosexuality, but I don't HATE homosexuals and I certainly wouldn't wear a shirt that says God hates them.
God is love, he loves everyone no matter what their sexual orientation is.

I agree, he is a disgrace. If there is a God, he and his cronies will receive their just reward, unless they repent. I'm pretty sure that God hates His name being used in order to hate others.
