I have a 7yr old cat and I just got an 8 week old kitten about a month ago. My 7yr old cat has taught kittens in the past to use the box but she refuses to help the new kitten. The older cat gets along with kitten but won't help kitten out. I've done: 1.putting the kitten in the box every 30min. 2.When wetting/soiling the floor- put kitten in box with it. 3.I got two different litterboxes: large/small also trying 2 different kinds of litters. Each change about a week apart. A month of urine and feces on the floor, I'm starting to give up. Any more advice for my difficult kitty?

sounds like you have tryed everything, the only other thing that I can think of is if it's possible put the second litter box in a different room put kitty in litter box leave the room and shut the door( of course have food and water in there) try this for a couple of days, just keep checking on her and spend some time with her through out the day but leave her in that room. when you check on her if there is poop on the floor put it in the litter box then put her in their. If she hasn't started using the litter box by the end of the second day I don't know what ealse you could try. good luck

You could try putting your kitten in a small area with your two litterboxes so if it does go on the floor you wont have to clean up much and i agree with every one else put your kitten in the litterbox and use its front feet and help it the dig a hole and then place your kitten on the hole and hold it there for a little while or just before needs to go,
hope it helps.

Just put it in the litterbox when she is about to soil the floor, and show it how to dig with the front paws. I don't know what else to say, all the kittens I have taken from the streets learned by themselves, really. I just got a tiny kitten from the streets a couple of days ago, I showed her the litterbox and she used it right away!

If your kitten is not using the litter box, it may very well be sick. Our kitten had diahhrea and used the corners, until we took her in and had her treated. Also you need to have three litter boxes for two cats. After you take the kitten to the vet (could have worms, other parasites or something else), then confine it to a small room with its own litter box. Cats like to use the clay since it seems like dirt. Your kitten should not need training. Take it to the vet.

Anytime I have a new kitten I usually put the litter box in the room with me until the kitten gets used to using it and then slowly every week moving the box to a new location so they get adjusted easier..

try another litter that is completely different from the one you have already tried
Clean the area where kitty has already gone, I bet he smells
urine on the floor and then goes there.
You have to clean with odour removal stuff from the vet, do not use bleach

there is basically one thank you to confirm! yet you ought to placed her in her muddle container each and every time you spot her pee and doubtless placed her poo (if she poos exterior the container too) interior the muddle container so she would manage to scent it there and with a bit of luck bypass interior the container. Cats commonly pee/poo interior an identical places. do no longer provide up, it would desire to be that she became taken from her mom too quickly and by no ability learnt a thank you to apply a muddle container. The muddle won't practice her via itself nevertheless regardless of the undeniable fact that it is well worth a attempt.
