I'm Jewish and I really don't get why Christians say we go to hell. We believe in the same G-d and can be good people.

Yeah - i dont think that you will go to hell. If you are of a certain religion but behave in a way that pleases god then i reckon you will still go to heaven. Just be the best person you can be and listen to god and i got no doubt that anyone can get there :-)

The first Christians were Jews. I certainly believe that they went to heaven. As a Christian I believe in the New Testament gospels which states in John 14:6 Jesus said to him, " I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. Then in verses 8,9, and10 it says...Philip said to Him, "Lord show us the Father and it is sufficient for us".Jesus said to Him, Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known me, Philip? He who has seen me has seen my Father; so how can you say show me the Father? Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in me.
Christians believe all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God Romans 3;23 and we believe that the only way to have our sins forgiven is through faith in the Savior Jesus Christ. That he paid for our sins on the cross. Died rose again on the third day.We believe that is the only way to be forgiven and that anyone , Jew ,Greek, American, ETC. who rejects Christs sacrifice for our sin, will stand before Him after they die with their sin and have to pay the penalty for their sin which is eternal death. Romans 6;23... But make no mistake about it, all the Christians I know love the Jewish people . Out of you came our Lord and Savior, and for that we are eternally grateful!! I'd like to answer the guy who asked about the Jews who died before Jesus came. No, they did not automatically go to hell. Jesus was dead for three days, in which time he went and preached to the ones who died before . They were looking for a Messiah and trusted that He would come and take away their sin. They understood that part. They were given a chance to hear the good news and meet their Savior! God bless!!!

It's not fair to generialize all Christians in that manner. I've never said that Jews are gonna go to hell.

We are not judges with regards to who enters heaven. On the day of judgement, we all will be judged. It is not up to Christians, but rather God who decides who enters Heaven. I don't think it is a general Christian belief that Jews are going to hell. I think it might be something that you misunderstand about the Christian faith.

they mean that since as Jews you do not accept Jesus Christ as Saviour and Messiah then you are going to go to hell because you can't go to heaven since you do not believe in Christ.

I wonder just how Christian that sentiment is and I often wonder if it is not the so called Christians that are going to hell for condemning so many others to hell for not agreeing with them. Jesus was a Jew, something that is often forgotten and even denied. As the Bible says, we have all been decieved.

This is heavy...as a christian who loves Israel it is sooo hard for me to answer this. G-d knows who will go to heaven and who will go to hell...but to be honest in the new covenant Jesus said that if you deny Him He will deny you before His heavenly Father...G-d.
Jesus wept over Jerusalem saying "Behold your house is left unto you desolate. For I say unto you, you shall not see me henceforth, till you shall say, Blessed is He that cometh in the name of the Lord."
Jesus made it clear that He was upset because the Jews did not recognize the time of His visitation...
Isaiah discribes Jesus in Ch.52/53. I understand you do not see it that way...but as you may already know...christians do...
But I know for a fact that Blindness in part has happened to Israel...one day the fullness of the gentiles will come in and the blindness will be removed....
and again I tell you I write this with a heavy heavy heart.
May the peace of G-d be with you.

I think Jews get a different heaven, where everything is 20% off.

Seriously, jews who have near-death experiences always say the light they walk towards is blue.

Christians who have the same experiences always say the light is white.

So maybe god has a 1st class section for jews?

They say that because Jews don't accept Jesus as the Messiah. Then they quote scripture at you, about how the only way to the Father is through the Son. I wonder... what happened to all the Jews who died before Jesus was born... do they go to hell by default?

The missing link is the faith in Jesus as the Christ and Messiah. He said anyone who goes to the Father must go through me. It is tru that we both believe in the same God, and I think saying you're going straight to hell is harsh; no doubt you can be good people. I do believe, however, that having faith in Christ is a key component in going to Heaven, and I think that both God and Jesus preached that.

The Bible is very clear about the fate of those that don't believe in Jesus. But, it's never too late.

Try the story of the Rich Man and Lazarus, perhaps this will help clarify things a bit. This passage applies to everyone and Jews in particular:

"There was a rich man who was dressed in purple and fine linen and lived in luxury every day. At his gate was laid a beggar named Lazarus, covered with sores and longing to eat what fell from the rich man's table. Even the dogs came and licked his sores.

"The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham's side. The rich man also died and was buried. In hell,[a] where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. So he called to him, 'Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.'

"But Abraham replied, 'Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony. And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been fixed, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.'

"He answered, 'Then I beg you, father, send Lazarus to my father's house, for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.'

"Abraham replied, 'They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them.'

" 'No, father Abraham,' he said, 'but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.'

"He said to him, 'If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.' "

(Luke 6:19-31)

theres no different between you guys except that the christians believe in the "new testament" which is pretty much everything that has to do with jesus the carpenter (or whom they like to believe..the son of god) they believe that you CANNOT go to heaven if you dont believe and accept jesus as your lord and savior. you can be the most sinless person on the planet and still go to hell if you dont believe in the jesus concept.
