Did you ever get suckered into buying an "All-the-Bells-&-Whistles" off-brand reel and found out you shoulda just stuck with the Big 3,(Shimano, Daiwa, Penn)?

I've stupidly, (to save money) , paid for & got "burned" by Okuma, Cabelas, Basspro, & (drum-roll) Pinnacle! I got a reel from each of these company's and it had an issue/issues either immed or right AFTER the warranty expired! (Arghhhh!)

Anybody else buy cheap fishing gear to save money and wish they had "gone with what they knew" to be good?

Sure have.Back in the 70's there was a "Sportfisher casting reel with 6 and a half foot rod" a super "tournement" setup.SET UP was the word.I shelled out 60 bucks for the same thing I could get a Kmart fo 20 bucks.Dayyam if the rod didn't break the first time I caught a fish.

From a completely LOGICAL standpoint the seller would be foolish to offer a 100% money back guarantee if her product was a knock off. Who starts a business taking that kind of a risk in THIS economy?! The products she's selling are real & unless the lady bashing this company has personally had a bad experience with Fancy Hills she should think twice before speaking especially when you have actual Fancy Hills customers who are buying & using these products backing them up. The reason the prices are so great is because this small business owner isn't having to rent space at Macy's or the mall, DUH!

Only once ,I bought a cheap rod.It was about 8 years ago,the rod was 50.00s. After the first day the tip ring cracked.I know how to fixit. You simply heat the tip with a lighter then pull it off.Well it was cemented with a permanent glue that doesn't melt.I had to cut the rod to put a new one on.Its OK now but ,no more cheap rods.I by Seeker ,G.Loomis,Calstar

I have a hard time believing you got burned by Okuma. I have used their reels exclusively for almost ten years now. In fact Okuma is a sponsor of mine and I would never solicit sponsorship from a product I did not believe in and had used extensively

I have been using Penn exclusively for many years but now am experimenting with others such as Alutecnos ,Avet,Tiburon and accurate.I have always been a firm believer in "you get what you pay for" always buy the best you can afford. They may run you more money right now but with a little care will last a long time.

Never. If I bought cheap tackle I would not have any expectations of it's ability to last and perform well. Team Daiwa been very good for me.
