so i was watching jesus camp the other night. and i'm watching the seen after the fat lady made all the kids cry for being one way when they're at church and being normal when they leave. then this one kid gets up on stage and starts talking about his experience with christianity and how sometimes he feels like a fake because, and i'm paraphrasing here, he doesn't really know if god exists because he can't really see him. and that seen made me wonder. how much do you think it takes of scaring people with hellfire and eternal damnation before they're actually convinced they've "seen" god? think about it. this is a kid, no older than maybe seven years old, and a lot closer to god, if one does exist, than any of us. he's still living with his parents and therefore very much under their control, yet he's man enough to admit that he doesn't know if god exists. so why do so many here pretend like they "know" he exists? you know you're not fooling anyone, don't you?

matt a, so you read a book about jesus glorifying jesus, and you believe? you know there are also books about hitler that glorify hitler? i hope you don't read those if you're that easily convinced.

uncle remus, faith and knowing are two different things. if you can't even grasp this simple concept then there really is no point using logic to argue against you. in stead i'll use illogical comments like, "god exists because bananas are red" then you say, "but bananas aren't red." to which i reply "ah, so bananas aren't red, then god doesn't exist."

lifeinheavenforeever, thank you for that wonderful breakdown of science. it's so nice to have someone who's actually informed speak for your side of the argument for once. i now see the error in my ways. all these years i though science was based on educated guesses rather than random hypotheses pulled out of thin air. never mind the fact that the universe is expending in all directions. that doesn't prove anything. never mind all the physicists and other scientists who dedicated their lives to science, some under persecution of the churches due to their random hypotheses contradicting what the bible says, only so that we can live in the comfort we live in today. they know very little compared to what you don't know. thanks for clarifying things.
