A hundred years ago, it was Irish immigration that caused a stir. People even submitted bills to congress to stop them. And most of them came over legally. The problem is the fact that it is to easy for both our borders to be crossed by any one. That includes criminals that plan to hurt citizens. Illegal immigration is just that, ILLEGAL. I have worked with many and been friends with a few illegal immigrants and I know most are just looking to improve their lives, I have no problem with that. But that doesn't mean they are right in crossing our border without the proper paperwork and a criminal background check with fingerprinting and DNA samples. It is about having a responsible policy that allows harmless people to come on in and join this beautiful melting pot of cultures while keeping a murderous criminal away from our families.
Al Quida can easily enter by way of the Mexican and Canadian borders to do what they want thanks to all the open patrolled space that illegal immigrants use daily.

Quoted by.......yourself:
"We are xenophobic and don't just need to reform our historically racist immigration policy, but our attitudes towards others. An illegal is no more criminal than you trailer park trash that probably have a DUI or get caught shoplifting."
And you're so progressive and "open minded" !

In my journey, peoples of alternative countries are actually not as obsessed approximately money as human beings may be, yet, I do think of there is resentment between the folk of the mid-east in direction of human beings, and greater many times, the west. component to this resentment stems from Israel, yet, additionally, the middle eastern countries had a proud background, they have been the top of enlightenment until the fifteenth century or so. They have been leaders in philosophy, the arts, the sciences, and in commerce for one thousand years or greater. The west then grew to become the main excellent in those cultural aspects on the same time as middle eastern countries too a returned seat. Militarily, the seventeenth century spelled the doom of the mid east. Now, they call for acceptance in accordance with delight, and, have wrapped this racial delight around faith, and, properly, we are at odds. God help us all...

When I was younger I knew of non-Mexican illegals in
my own neighborhood from the country of my own
heritage. They worked here, didn't pay into the system and
sent money back to their homeland. I believed then as I do now that they should be deported. It's not a racist thing, it's an American thing.
Maybe I'm old fashioned, but I believe that criminals should
be punished and/or deported, and not rewarded.

there are a certain number of people who are focused only on the race for racist reason but the truth is that if it was another culture that made it harder on hard working citizens they would get the same treatment.we have had a rise in molestation, veichular deaths due to drunk driving and domestic related deaths now those are things that I'm not willing to accept from any one but it is a fact that these are people of Hispanic background. and all i have to say is WE NEED TO REFORM THIS PROBLEM!!!!

Two problems with your logic (or lack of)
1) The redneck caught shoplifting or with a DUI.... IS just as guilty of law breaking..... and they are punished. The punishment for breaking immigration law is to be sent back to you country of origin (Mexico has sent thousands back to south american countries)
2)Just like those who think only Asians were sent to internment camps during WWII... your race argument doesn't hold water. EVERY SINGLE DAY we send back Canadians, Europeans, Russians, and Africans here illegally.... That's right EVERY DAY!!! Why aren't you marching for them? You must be racist!
Treat them ALL the same... if you are here illiegally SEND THEM BACK! If you want to make the effort to do it the right way... Let me be the first to offer you a job!

I don't think the majority of Americans are racist xenophobes....Ever heard of the silent majority? I think most want real immigration reform....Unfortunately, the most radicals, always scream the loudest, and all other voices get lost....One last thing, Germans were discriminated, when many fled Germany during the war, they had campaigns to throw them out of certain small towns....

If your asking, would I still want them deported ? the answer is yes. Who you are, or where your from, does not make one any less illegal.
