Our mouths are designed to take in nourishment for our bodies and build people up with our words as well as sing the praises of God Almighty. Far to often our mouths are used to cuss people out, cut them down, tell dirty jokes, talk in inapropriate language, gossip, curse God, take in things that were never ment to be consumed by humans, and so much more.
Are you watching what goes in and out of your mouth? After all the mouth is the doorway to the rest of the body and if you put trash in your body will soon follow. What comes out is a direct reflection of the condition of your heart.

Well, being the human that I am it just happens sometimes that I don't think before I speak unless I'm talking about God. Then I really think so I don't say anything wrong. I do hear myself far more now than I did before I became a Christian though and wow what an amazingly mean potty mouth I had. As far as what goes into it, It is so true about nourishment so we can continue to do God's work. I recently went off my thyroid meds through a set of circumstances working against me and for the last few days I have been miserable and unable to get online. We not only need to eat to stay strong we need whatever meds we are supposed to be taking.
But I used my mouth tonight for the glory of God. My friend from a long time ago and I were talking and he was blown away by the change in me from when we used to smoke together. The seeds have been sown and I will continue God's work with him.

Thank you for this post Brother Stone as it stands I owe steadfast 3 dollars for saying bad words and as I grow closer to the Lords when I curse I feel conviction.
My gift is encouragement and I like to edify build up and compliment people as well as pray for people as I am in intercessory prayer also.
I would never want to gossip hurt of ruin someones reputation because this kind of behavior was given to me in elementary Jr high and high school. I remember a nasty rumor in The 5th grade that was said about me that I had lice and it was not true a bug just flew over my head, I was so paranoid and I even had dreams of having lice and even though I was not a christian at that time I vowed even as a Young girl that I would never treat anyone like crap the way I was treated.
Much of what we say is not worth even being heard a good verse is Psalm 19:14 May the words of my mouth and the meditiation of my heart be acceptebacle in your sight my God and my redeemer.
Words have the power to heal and to destroy that you for the reminder that our mouths need to be glorifing to the Lord in all we say and all we profess. Peace be with you E4G

Man, I haven't been able to see the words coming out my mouth since I could taste color or hear a picture.
Who deems what is appropriate? You? Your belief in what YOU think is "offensive" to God? Or is it someone else's idea planted in your head?
What joke is "dirty" until until you, personally, decide that it is?

Yes... what goes in is healthy whole grain and low fat. What comes out is the truth... no gods, no heaven, no hell. Dinosaurs roamed the earth long before man was around. Man evolved over thousands of years to where he is today. And when he is gone, that will be all there is.
My mouth is definitely serving me as it should.

I can always use a good reminder on that topic.
Jesus warned that our words are so important that they will actually determine our condemnation or justification. He said we will be held responsible for all our words, even our careless, idle words. “But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned” (Matt. 12:36-37).

My mouth allows me to eat nutritious food, yes. But today I communicated more with my fingers and keyboard than with my mouth.
