Hey dude im prod to hear that your willing to step up and defend the US. Your a very good man and I respect you. Now about your question, the marines will teach you everything you need to know and they probably will except your accent or not perfect english. Well good luck and thank you.

You cannot join the Marines until you can read, write, speak, and understand basic American English.

Go to the nearest University and post a notice on the main bulletin board for a student english tutor.
Students will teach you english for very little cost.

If you have been in this country for three year's,why haven't you taken to time to learn the language? If you can't speak English how do you expect your fellow marines to understand you? I was in the Navy for three year's. When I got out I could speak, Japanese, Viet Namese and could make myself understood in Australia and the P.I.. You need to learn the language before you try to become one of Uncle Sam's Misguided Children. You will be an E-2 or E-3 the whole time you are in and will catch all the S--- detail's unless they can use your native language. Semper Fi.

In order to enlist in the Armed Forces you will have to take a battery of tests to guage what qualifications you hold to even get to the point of being sworn in. If you have problems with English, it's doubtful you will be able to pass the entry exams. How would you understand given orders? You might misinterpret an order, misunderstand it, and either cost someone else their lives or your's. The military is a very serious deal. It's not an unemployment office either. Wait until your communication skills are adequate before you enlist because your attempts will be futile.

Your ability to join will depend on your citizenship status. Check with your local recruiter regarding the specifics. You can join without being a citizen, but you have to be in the process, etc.

Speaking from experience in boot camp, if you can't speak English very well then you will have a very tough time. If you are bent on enlisting, take some rigorous english classes and you should be good in no time.

My experience has been that when under stress, like boot camp, people who speak English as a 2nd language tend to forget how to speak it altogether. I'm not saying you wouldn't make it, it can be done. But be prepared for a very tough time.

We have had so many fine young people killed and maimed that they will take you even with your English deficiencies. Have you thought about how your family will feel when they come to the door and tell them you are dead? Killed in an illegal and immoral war? If you have children, who will raise them? Just be sure you are willing to die for a lost cause before you sign on the dotted line. Also remember Bush has cut veterans benefits for those who manage to stay alive. Good luck.
