I got scarred by the Assemblies of God church and needed two years of what my brother and I call "apatheism" to heal up. I don't want to talk about that.
Wicca, which led me to eclectic Paganism, appealed to me when I picked up Marion Weinstein's Positive Magick. She talked about all the things I wished religion could have--respect for women, respect for pleasure, the pursuit of happiness--and all the things I liked about religion, too--giving myself over in ecstatic worship, talking to the Deity and working together to make words manifest into realities. I didn't know religion could be like that, but it was all the things I'd felt in my heart.
And then I met a Wiccan, who had been practicing for a couple of years and had also left fundamental Protestant Christianity. We actually dated for a while, and it was sort of like a car--good at first, but depreciated into a pile of junk. While I dated him, I learned, and even got into a position to teach, and met a lot of Wiccans and Neo-Pagans.

I converted to Catholicism because I found out all the myths my Baptist preachers told me were untrue. Because the Catholics have been around a LOT longer than the Protestants and everywhere I went in the Middle East showed signs of the Catholic Church whether it be Eastern Orthodox, Ottoman, Byzantine or Roman.
Also, the two Nuns who supposedly met Mary for real and are in Paris died many years ago but have never decayed. Is that wild or what? If that's not a miracle, I don't know what is. If you don't know about it, look up Catherine Labour.

I converted/reverted to Islam because I finally found the answers I needed there. It was the only religion that was logical to me, it gave me peace and comfort and much happiness. It was the best decision in my life.

I'm a convert to Buddhism.
I converted because I was raised a Christian, and spent my entire life questioning the exsistence of God. And, obviously, for one to truly have faith, it cannot constantly be questioned. But the idea of reincarnation and a no-soul was something that seemed natural to me.

I wouldn't say that I have converted, I was and still am hindu, but I have chosen the path of Krishna conciousness.
Hinduism can be confusing and Krishna teaches you that there is only one supreme God.

I reverted because all the years of brainwashing that god is three and or has a son and committed suicide and i could basically get to heaven for doing nothing just didnt fly with me. I was tired of being told that all i needed was faith and not common sense. I found Islam. Islam answered all my questions, it made sense and I couldnt be happier about it

I changed religion because I was tired of the constant negative approach. I prefer a positive approach.

After much deliberate and, I hope, well thought out study and reflection I left one belief system that I do not believe is workable for another belief system that I do believe is workable.
