Most likely the guy is being dramatic. If he does try and sue for damages, he will have to provide medical documentation that supports his claim.

Don't worry, he's just a jerk

P.S. I wlould get your dog a little training to help him with starngers.

He can sue you - the case holding up in court is the concern....it does not seem likely, unless he has any visible bruising or scratches & takes pics of them, or requires medical attention & if there are any witnesses that would testify on his behalf....your valid points are that you had your dog on a leash & he was not bit & if there are witnesses on your behalf, that is in your favor....the man may try to concoct a story & try to sue you - just stay true to the facts that your dog did not touch him - good luck....

He's going to have to prove his injuries and prove that your dog did it I would think.

First thing that came to mind is, is this like being "almost pregnant" or "almost dead"? lol When did "almost" become a crime. Thankfully he didn't have a heart attack.

Labradors are very smart dogs. Cross the street or move out of the way and hold the leash tight next time ~ apparently your dog is very smart and knows a bad man when he sees one *grin*

Anyone can sue anyone. In civil court the burden of proof is much less than in criminal court. The suit would go nowhere. If the guy is a jerk he could contact the local animal control authority who might give you some minor trouble.

No. "Almost" only "counts"- in horseshoes & handgrenades.
