The only unforgiveable sin nowadays is to reject Jesus as your Savior. While Jesus was on earth the people who rejected Him and who attributed the miracles that He did by the power of the Spirit to the Devil were committing that sin.
Matthew 12:22 Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw. 23 And all the people were amazed, and said, Is not this the son of David?
24 But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.
25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand: 26 And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand? 27 And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges. 28 But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.
29 Or else how can one enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house. 30 He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad. 31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. 32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

It is found in Luke.12:10. other references are Matthew 12:31,32, Mark 3:28,29, and 1 John 5:16. Jesus said the sin against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven. This has worried many sincere Christians, but they do not have to be worried. The unforgivable sin involves deliberate and ongoing rejection of the work of the Holy Spirit and thus of God himself. A person who has committed this sin has shut himself off from God so completely that he is unaware of any sin at all. (no conviction) A person who fears having committed this sin shows by his very concern (or conviction) that he has not sinned in this way and can still be forgiven. But those who ignore the conviction of their own conscience and believe that they do no sin blaspheme against the Holy Ghost.

In Mark 3:22, Jesus is accused of casting out demons by the power of Satan. If that were true, Jesus replied, then Satan's house is broken, for Satan would be acting against his own agents.
Jesus cast out the demons by the power of God, through the Holy Spirit. The scribes were therefore blaspheming the Holy Spirit. Jesus was warning them that if they continue, they may never get saved.
Some people think they can say nasty things about the Holy Spirit and thus blaspheme him. But in this case, we see the Holy Spirit actually at work, and scribes had acknowledged the work but attributed it to an ungodly source.
When an atheist says something against someone he does not believe in, that is not necessarily blasphemy, just ignorance. They are not denying a supernatural work they have witnessed. They have not seen a supernatural work and attributed it to an ungodly source.

blashpemy against the Holy Spirit. i take this as once you have come to know Christ and have asked him into your life and been filled with they Holy Spirit and then blasphemy against God. i also believe the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are all one and the same.
and we all probally rejected God. or most of us did. that can be forgiven. if that is the case then why try to win souls? some people are saying that is not forgivable. you might not be saved at that time and probally wont make it to heaven even if you are a good person however does not mean you cant be forgiven of it when you do realize truth. however blasphemy against the Holy Ghost or Holy Spirit same thing or for what i believe blasphemy against God or Jesus. is not forgiven. however that is once you have tased the truth.
also there is a differance between blasphemy and backsliding. blasphemy is claiming to be God, or faking stuff like we believe in speaking in tongues and if you fake it but you have done it before but fake it another time that is blasphemy or claiming God does not exist. but backsliding you still believe and know he exist you just choose to do your own thing.
and why i feel it is only when you know the truth is because when you dont know truth you dont know what you are talking about. plane and simple. kinda like you can talk all about the military all you want rather it is good or bad but if you had not been in you cant really talk. you are talking what you have heard but not by experiance. same with God. once you know the truth then you are talking with experiance.
for instance if you believe and at the time you know that you were healed and it was God who healed you. maybe you had aids and now you dont at all. but later on you take back the credit and claim God does not exist at all.
and the verse in hebrews i believe were it talks about once you have fallen away you cant be forgiven of you have to read the whole scripture. because it is talking about you cant have Jesus die for you twice. he already died for you once. you just have to turn back to him. so you dont get re forgiven because you already are. and for me i think it is possible and some do leave church after they have known Jesus and truth. i am sure it happens or why would God even talk about it. and i feel it is for those who have be saved and meant it. anyways pray and ask God to show you truth.

If one denies that God has the power to forgive sins, then one is unable to repent, and therefore cannot be forgiven.
Rejecting the grace of repentence in this way becomes the unforgivable sin if and when God decides to stop extending that grace, or if and when the person dies in that decrepit state.
In practice, it's not easy to blaspheme the Holy Spirit ... mainly because God provides sufficient grace.

many people speak of "unforgivalble sins." The Bible speaks of it in only two places that I know of. Mark 3:28,29 talks about blasphamy against the Holy Ghost. Hebrews 6:4-6 speaks of those who were once enlightend and fall away have no forgivness.
However those that commit these were never really "born again" they were simply artificial believers.

Matthew 12:31-32
31 Therefore I say to you, any sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven men, but blasphemy against the Spirit shall not be forgiven.
32 And whoever shall speak a word against the Son of Man, it shall be forgiven him; but whoever shall speak against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, either in this age, or in the age to come.

the unpardonable sin=dying in unbelief-rejecting the Holy Spirit tug on our heart to let Jesus forgive and come in
I learned in time=when people arnt happy or feel sufficient-they search for truth or for anything-search the heart
well Romans 1 says it comes from being unthankful and worshiping the created instead of the creator in rejecting Jesus salvation.
All I can say is pray, Jesus still loves each one of us heart and soul and delivers all who will give him control. John 3 praying for you, David

The Bible teaches that blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is unforgivable. Just what is meant by that is subject to debate.
