I feel very irritable, angry & depressed right now, & I feel like I'm going to lose my temper. I'm trying very hard to not allow myself to become weak enough to get mentally hospitalized. I've been having a headache & nausea & feeling tense & full of anxiety all day with my stomach feeling like it's twisted in knots, & I can't even eat. I'm about to cry.
I usually feel stupid calling the crisis hotline because my family shuns me for it & teases me about it, saying that all I'm doing is telling STRANGERS my personal business. Personally, I find the crisis hotline very helpful. If I talk out my problems, it helps me calm down & feel better. I don't really have any friends to turn to but 1 friend. I'm really struggling with a lot if issues, & the other so-called friends think I'm just a drama queen who complains too much & wants sympathy & attention, when that's not so.
Is there anything wrong with calling the crisis hotline or is it OK?

There is nothing wrong with calling the crisis hot-line. That is what there for. If it helps you calm down and feel better, then go for it. It is OK, and sometimes talking to complete strangers is easier then talking to people who know you. Your not going to get judged by the way you feel . Do not let your family get to you, it is none of their business right? Maybe if they were more understanding of your feelings you would not be struggling so much in the first place. call Hun, it helps you, and that is a very good thing.

That is what they are there for. Call and talk to someone. Even ask if you can call him or her back later to talk some more if you start to feel badly again.
Your family is wrong to shun you for this. They don't even need to know about it.
You go ahead and call; it helps to have contact with people online but it also helps to talk to someone over the phone; especially someone qualified and sympathetic.

An excellent online resource to "chat" real time with peers who may be experiencing the same feelings or issues as you are is http://www.ChatSuicide.org. ChatSuicide.org is an anonymous text-based chat that you can access from your phone or computer. Peer support is often recognized as more effective than some of the other support options, but should not in itself replace other forms of help either.
Give it a try, it's anonymous - http://www.ChatSuicide.org
Online chat and phone text is going to replace traditional telephone voice, as is the trend we see going forward, right?

Of course there's nothing wrong with calling it! That's why it's there hun! Don't let your family or friends tease you for wanting to help yourself out, you should be proud of yourself! If you ever need to talk about anything feel free to e-mail me julesdebomb@yahoo.com. I'm always willing to talk, too much time on my hands LOL. Good luck! =D

I've never called, but my best friend worked at one for a long time, and she said all people ever really needed was someone to just listen. Not give advice, but just to listen and be supportive.

My friend worked at a crisis center here in Seattle, some of them do offer assistance to people in financial distress - it doesn't hurt to ask.

Are you taking anything to help you become balanced again? Consult a doctor about this. Depression is an illness.
