NO, not pressure but I do out of respect. I worked in the service industry for years and they only make 2.13 an hour and it goes to taxes....don't be cheap, leave the tip!!

I went to TGIF for dinner with my fiance one night. I went there with just enough money to eat, knowing I probably wasn't gonna leave a tip. As someone that leaves a tip 9 1/2 outa 10 times, I really didn't care cause I was hungry, and I was hungry for TGIF, heck, I didn't even have enough money to buy a soda. Anyway, I was straight with the waiter, I said, hey, I only have enough for my meal, I feel like a SOB cause of it, but, I had a craving all day long for one of your steaks, you know. The guy was cool as heck about it, so no, I don't feel pressure, remember there getting paid, and that you are the customer, they should be happy enough you chose to spend your last $23 some dollars at there restaurant.

A tip is a normal part of a service persons income. If the practice of tipping was erradicated in this country there would be an increase in the cost outright. The cost of my haircuts would go up $5 to $10 right away.
Our food servers ususally make less than minimum wage and the establishment they work for expects them to make up their difference in tips.
I don't feel pressured to leave a tip. I tip at least 20% for good service and less as the service a warrents. If the server's a total jerk I will not leave a tip.
I work hard for my tips by treating my customers with respect for their needs and comforts. My customers tip me accordingly. My average tip percentage is 35% of service.

If the service was very good, I don't feel pressured, however if there was bad service, it's hard to leave a tip, since it goes against your principles. Leave a 10% in order to give a message.

pressure? no! I figure if I'm out to dinner in a restaurant, well then gratuity surely is a part of the deal here! After all, 'someone' served me supper!
Normally ATLEAST 15%, if not 20% tip or close to it.
Only twice have I been badly badly serviced, and they definately got way less than 15%, but it was because they were all around bad servers and one could easily tell that they just did not care at all.
But no, no pressure here!

The standard hourly wage for a server in a chain restaurant is about 2-3 bucks an hour. I feel it is immoral to not leave one. I also feel that people tend to be very self righteous and expect their server to give them perfect service, not taking into consideration how busy they may be or other side work that they have to get done. If someone can afford to go out to dinner, in my opinion they can afford to tip decent.

Having spent a lot of years serving tables, tips are a very very necessary part of the job. Here in Michigan we get paid about $3.00 an hour and so have to rely on tips to eat and buy gas to get back to our crummy jobs to start all over again. TIP!!!!!!

I sometimes do, expecially when I am with other people, you don't want to seem cheap. Also if it is a restaurant in your area where you may go again, its just common courtesy to leave a tip, even if its a small one.

I always leave tips, but have no qualms giving a bad one if I'm not satisfied.
