My BFF is really really flat. her mom still thinks of her as 5 years old! She's 2 shy to ask her mom for a bra. What will work for her to give her a little umph umph?????

Being flat-chested at 13 is nothing to be embarrassed about and not abnormal at all...all girls grow at their own rate...she'll catch up, just give her time. As for asking her mom for a bra....maybe when she's out shopping with her mom she could find a set (bra & panty together) that she likes and ask her mom to buy it for her because it's really cute. Girls at 13 should be wearing SOME kind of bra...even if it's just a training bra (I don't know WHAT they would be training for). Or she could say that she HAS to wear one for gym class, which she should be doing anyway..chest or not. If she has an older female family member that she's close to, maybe she could talk to her about helping her get a bra. It's a tough question to answer without knowing the people......My mom didn't give me a choice...I got my first bra whether I wanted it or not and I did the same for my step-daughter (no, her mom hadn't bought her one yet). Sorry sometimes it is just the way we are made. I was super flat chested until I was about 25. I made to with Wonderbras and .....more wonderbras.
Look chances are her mum does notice every little change - her little girl is becoming a woman. Doesn't mean her mum is happy about it or wants it to happen too fast.
But I can understand why she wants a bra. Even with a flat chest, nipples can show under pale shirts and that is EMBARRASSING!
So just get her to ask her mum that way. Tell her mum that boys are looking at her nipples through her white shirts. She will get a bra for your 'friend' quick smart.
And dont worry - at 13 you haven't finished growing.

She should not be ashamed of being flat. I suggest she just admits it to herself instead of tying a padded or push up bra. Help her be proud of the body she has. But she could ask her mom for some small bra just so she doesn't feel so naked or left out. Good luck!

I suggest wear built in shirts with bras if she can and don't really worry about it because every one develops at their own rate. And she really need to talk to her mom, and tell her how she feels and eventually she will come around. I know my mom was the same way.

im my opinion she dosent need it ... she just hasnt matured yet. if she really wants to use a bra, try a cotton one at first then move on the thinker styles. but DONT get an ultra padded bra it will look fake. but seriously dont worry, shell grow up sooner or later. & if not theres always plastic surgery. =P hope i helped a little.

Boobs are a burden. She's only 13 and really don't need em just yet. Believe me having to wear a bra sucks. And her boobs will come when they are suppost to. If she is really self conscience their are bras out their that have a little extra paddying or sometimes even gel. I wouldn't recomend them though... her breast will come in due time.

tell her to drop hints that she wants a bra...
like ok um.. lets say they go shopping at the mall and just happen to be near the bra section, tell her to ease over that way and start looking at the sport bra section and then into the training bra section. her mom'll get the hint and probably bring up buying her a bra.
didn't happen to me...i got boobs too soon for my liking....but we all grow at diff. rates.

umph? umm maybe waiting till ur friend (aka u) reaches puberty...
dont try and speed tht up, everybody is different and everybody develops at different times, she (u don't) doesnt need any umph at 13 anyways
