Canadian troops should not be in Afghanistan. The only reason they are there is to kiss up to Bush, our war mongering war profiteering president.

Agree. On September 12, 2001 NATO voted to see the attacks the day on the US before as an attack on all invoking the clause in the treaty. NATO is officially at war with Al-Queda. There are not only Canadians there but British, German, Dutch, and at one point 200 French soldiers there (still can't believe that one). Afghanistan was, and in many ways still is, seen as everyone's fight.

I agree with whatever the Canadian people decide to do. All I can say is that what Canada and the other NATO countries have done is allowed the United States to free up that many more people to pursue the war in Iraq.

I agree: the Canadian Armed Forces should be in Afghanistan, helping to rebuild the nation and eliminate the Taliban with extreme prejudice. Canada can do this in order to play a more active role in the international community, and to help the Afghan people rebuild their nation. Now, who will you give as MANY points as possible to?

I'm happy to hear that there are even still Canadian troops in Canada.

Seriously though, I'm happy there is a Canadian presense in Afghanistan. I'm sorry to know that there is not one in Iraq. Canada had been arm and arm with Britain, Australia and the USA in defense of liberty for nearly a century. Sad to see our neighbor to the north losing is will to defend liberty more vigorously.

Agree - this is everyone's battle, I'm surprised that there's not more countries that want to help with this - the US is so diverse that I feel when terrorists attack, it's not just on Americans that live right in conus, it's on everyone.
