You will always wonder and wish otherwise.

It's a huge decision because it will affect the rest of your life. But if you feel you want to go Marine Corp, then research the issue and make an informed decision yourself. Also check out what the other branches offer. Technical careers are more abundant in the Air Force and Navy in case you decide against Nursing and want a different career opportunity. I've always been a strong proponent of doing something in the Military that can give you a career after your Military life, and the Marine Corp doesn't offer a whole lot of Civilian Career equilivants, and neither does the Army.
Ultimately it's your decision, so make an informed one. Hope this helps.

So you think that the infantry are just crash dummies, do you? Man, you knew little sh*ts are getting more and more ignorant and retarded every day. It's probably a good thing that you said you don't want infantry already, because you clearly don't have the stones. You understand that the Marines are about Courage, do you? Clearly, you do not. I doubt you could even spell the word Courage, much less Honor and Commitment when the rounds start flying at you. If you want to be involved and gain respect, then watch your goddamn mouth when you're talking about the Marines who ACTUALLY do the fighting that the Corps is so famous for.

When I was in bootcamp there were other Women who were from other Services. Mostly Army- The wanted to be part of the The Few, the Proud, the Marines.
Remember you have to work 2x's as hard as the Men once you get to your station *as a whole* they still don't like women in the Marines.

You need to do what will make you happy. Only you know the answer.....
Don't join the Air Force, Army, or Marines because you feel like someone wants you to.....you have to do it for yourself.
Personally, I'd prefer the Army or Air Force for Nursing but that's just my opinion.
In the end, it's your life and the choice you make has to be yours.....
Good luck!

I spent 23 years in the marines, and asked my self many times why , as the other branches are so much easier, but, I was always to proud of being a marine to join any other branch as I feel the marine corps is for men , real men, and the women who join must be real women or they won;t make it. so ask your self would you be proud to serve in another branch just because it is easier if so then stay home, I feel the marines are better trained and better fighters as they could always go in another branch if they wanted it easy, I feel the pride makes them better,

I agree, it sucks that we can't serve our country in combat. That makes that honor reserved for men. It attracts me too. That sucks. I think you should join. There's nothing more admirable. If you go to Iraq, email me. I've always wanted to email a soldier. Good luck. Join the marines, you'll feel like you missed out if you don't.

I'm with Ares on this one (first responder, very simple to the point and on the money answer)
I have friends in every branch and all of them (with the exception of the Spec Ops guys) wish they would have tried out the Marines.
Best of luck to you no matter what you decide!!!!!

Well, obviously I am a LITTLE biased. It is good that you are thinking about your future if you decide not to re-enlist. But, it does sound like you already have a good idea where your going to end up. No matter what you decide, best of luck to you.

You could always be a green side corpsman. That way you get to work with the Marines and learn medical skills. I always thought of our docs as Marines, hell they were always in the thick of it with us.
