Running is a great way to burn fat and stay in shape. Studies have proven that cardio first thing in the morning on a empty stomach will increase your metabolism which in return will help you burn fat. It increases your metabolism and uses the fat you have stored in your body for energy which in return will help you burn excessive fat all over your body. Your a size three so your already in great shape. It seems as if want a athletic body that is tone apposed to a bulky body. Believe me I am a body builder and I compete with woman as well and it take quite a bit to get bulky. It takes a lot for me. You could work out every day with heavy weight and if you are not eating perfectly you wont get bulky. Best way to exercise to get a toned body is with light weight, perform the movement slowly and accurately with high reps such as 15-20. Take a rest no more than a minute and repeat 2 more times. Usually is good to do a warm up either jog or run or a elliptical machine whatever to get your heart rate up before doing strength training. Then the exercise alone will keep your heart rate up as well as spike it during and while you are performing your rest and workout. Its not good to exercise more than five times per week because your body, muscle and joints needs time to rest. The only way you are going to get bulky is if you eat high amounts of healthy fats and protein. Someone put that beef made here bulky that isn’t scientifically true. It has been proven that a person needs to take in a gram of protein per body weight to see significant muscle gain. So take for example if you weigh 100lbs you would need 100grams of protien to see significant muscle gain as well as high helathy fats carbs at specific times a day. It isnt easy to bulk up its a science. If you dont diet properly you can gain weight. About your diet here are some other things that are good to eat. Light tuna, salmon, boneless skinless chicken breast, ground sirloin, or sirloin steak, pork loin, lunch meat fat free, fat free everything milk cheese salad dressing. Try replacing the normal salad dressing with a vinaigrette. Olive oil has a good fat which is healthy for us. Mixed nuts, natural peanut butter, fat free yogurt, fat free cottage cheese, whole wheat pasta, whole wheat bread, oatmeal, yams, vegetables, eggs, or egg whites. Studies have proven and it is also recommended by the FDA that 5-7 small meals a day have caused a increase in the metabolism which helps you to not store fat and to burn it as well and creates a healthy lifestyle. If you exercise regularly dont eat at least three hours before bed, and no carbs 6 hours before bed. If you get really hungry before bed it is ok to eat a little snack such as a lean protien, or they say the best snack is fat free cottage cheese and mixed nuts. If you go to bed really hungry your going to wake up hungry and may have a chance of over eating in the morning, so in return it is better to have a little snack if you are really hungry. Studies have also proven with healthy adults who are active that drinking plenty of water and are hydrated also shown a increase in their metabolism. A multi-vitamin also is good if you are working out and dieting to get your essential minerals. GNC has a mega woman formula which has a wide variety of everything a active woman should need. If you have any questions with anything regarding food or workouts that will help you burn fat email me would love to help. You should always consult with your doctor before starting a exercise, diet, or supplement plan. Best of luck.

Yoga and Pilates are good. Too much running without strength training will actually not give you the results you are after. Dance is good, and exercises which stretch your muscles.

You must eat more than salad, sardines and grapes. Why not have a glass of fat-free milk? YOU NEED CALCIUM!!!

I would stop worrying so much about body image and focus also on mental balance and spiritual fulfillment.

Why do you feel the need to be so skinny?

EAT BREAKFAST!!!!

there is an old saying,

eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dinner like a pauper

Big Breakfast, medium lunch small dinner

Breakfast= fruit, 3 eggs whites, 1 piece of whole wheat whole grain light toast, milk or orange juice, coffee if you want with skim milk and 1 splenda (best artificial sugar)

lunch= turkey sandwich with a very little bit of light mayo or mustard (russian dressing is out) lettuce tomato, pickles, all the veggies you want on it!, 1 piece of fiber filled fruits (apple , anything with a skin) or nuts

dinner- grilled or baked chicken, fish (can be very lightly breaded with lemon and pepper, if it is salmon you should go with cajun spice on it!), or turkey cutlet, on a salad with a non-creamy dressing (little or none of any dressing at all), one piece of whole wheat bread with margarine or light butter.

Snacks= lowfat crackers with cheese
fiber filled foods ( granola bars light ones only!!), apples, nuts, etc.
carrots, celery, or peppers in lowfat dip

try to eat 2 or less snacks a day, at most 3

drink water and green tea (with 1 splenda or unsweetened)
you can crystal light to water

staying hydrated speeds up metabolism

green tea and green tea supplements also speed up metabolism

excersize- 1 hour, intense cardio 6 days a week, strength or resistance training (3-5 days a week, don't work the same muscle group 2 days in a row), 1 day of low intensity cardio a week

good luck, don't try to lose the weight too fast, it will only cause loss of muscle and water, lose it slower and it will be all fat ( don't slow down wight loss on purpose though)

as for the abs and love handles- crunches, leg lifts, leglift-crunch, plank, buy a swiss excersize ball and find an article on how to use it, that should work your abs and muscles known as love handle obliques.

Once again good luck!

Remember, you can do this, I'm rooting for ya!!!!

This is easy when you take it one step at a time because you can have some snacks and stuff and it works for life not just your goal, this will be your whole life eating plan with some treats mixed in every now and then after you meet the goal.

This will take you those last 10 pounds!

Also try these-

park in the furthest spot from your office, change your natural walking pace when walking anywhere! (to work, room to rroom, lunch, faster or slower both work) Drink green tea, drink watre, cahnge the diet, chew sugar free gum, eat celery.

Eat nuts!!! More protein per ounce than meat!!! Almonds, sunflower seeds or peanuts or pistachios... whatever you like. Also eat salad and a bit of cheese. I really think eating a little cheese helps lose weight... I don't know why.

If you are female, you do not have to worry about being too bulky unless you are taking steriods.

Up your running on the treadmill to at least 3 miles... whatever that takes and try to work up to 4 miles per day..... if you are in pretty good shape that should take about an hour.

So to get skinny, work out at least one hour per day.... eat lots of salad and nuts when you are hungry.... always drink lots of water and green tea helps me from being hungry. I drink it the first thing in the morning and it is great. Nuts and green tea.... that's really all I NEED to eat... all the rest is just for FUN!!!! Don't get TOO skinny... I don't want you falling down on the catwalk like I saw the Paris models doing last week!

ok. doing cardio is good 30 min 4 days a week, but do you really want to be skinny? How about in good shape? You have to eat protein. Do not eat sugar. You shouls use weights, but light weights using 15-20 reps instead of 8-10 reps. If you insist on not using weights, then use this diet and keep doing cardio. Morning, eat quaker oats oatmeal. top with cinnamon, two packets splenda, and some sugar free jam. eat about 3 or 4 eggs whites without yolks for protein. Yum! lunch, cottage cheese and grapes, about 3 servings of low fat and about a cup of grapes or fruit. drink a high protein shake with half banana, and maybe some frozen strawberry for a snack. Dinner, sensible a meat, all the steamed veggies you can eat, and brown rice or brown pasta...about a serving of it. Eat rice cakes for snacks. Lean meat...no fatty food, and no foods with high sugars. Sugars will kill you. If you continue to cardio without weights, you will be flabby...so try to use some free weights or machine weights twice a week at least. if you need a workout plan, e-mail me.

Just keep it up, but whatever you do, do NOT go anorexic, or bulemic. Those are terrible habits. You probably don't need to lose weight anyway, if you're running on a treadmill 30 min. a day and nothing is happenning. If you're eating right and exersising, then you're probably about where you should be weight-wise.

There is no best way to lose weight w/out gaining body mass (muscle) other than starvation, which you have a case of if you eat a salad, sardines, and grapes. Plus, you should be having your weight in grams of protein daily to stay nice and lean, so I reccomend plenty of chicken and larger fish like salmon or fluke, but chicken is much cheaper.

I have had a few family members that have tried a scientific diet that isn't too difficult. It is called the up day down day diet. My sister-in-law lost 45 lbs. in about three month. My husband has lost 14 lbs. in two weeks so far. There is a option to the diet to maintain the weight as well. The website: http://www.johnsonupdaydowndaydiet.samsbiz.com/page/1ee88/How_to_do_the_diet.html
Also, don't obsess over your weight. That helps quite a bit.

I would suggest trying pilates. It was designed by a guy for ballet dancers so they could build muscle and become toned without getting bulky and really built. Of course it's not just for ballet dancers and it can be very relaxing. You can either take classes at a local gym or with DVDs that you can purchase at Target or Walmart.

Bulky looking people usually gain such attributes by having wide shoulders and large thighs.

Don't TRAIN muscles, do light exercising, keep to your food diet, Just try hold back on the protein side of it, but don't take it away, proteins are a need for all diets.
