ok i guess some people might take this as an attack but it's truly not.i want to understand why you consider that this was a sacrifice ...please read to the END.

God knew the whole thing beforehand anyway right? he KNEW that Jesus would come back to heaven for all eternity so WHAT exactly has God "sarificed"?

even the pain that Jesus had, that's a small thing when you take it in the light of an all powerful being,if you ask me how would i have like to be nailed, then you're talking of this whole thing in a HUMAN concept,so then where does the DIVINITY fit in?

most importantly,WHAT was the sacrifice in a foreseen event?

With Jesus, you cannot separate the divine from the human.
So just speaking in human terms does truly apply.
But, to the broader question in what was the sacrifice...
Knowing the outcome does not lessen the sacrifice's value in the least.
It was a sacrifice in that it was something Jesus could have avoided had He wanted to, however because He loved us enough, He took on the suffering that each of us deserved for our sin.
When you think about sacrifice, just in general terms, it is something that someone does for the benefit of another at some cost to themselves.
So no matter how little you may consider the price (though you could go back to the fact that Jesus' humanity does factor into its worth), you have to admit to at least some sacrifice there.

You actually answered your own question in a round about way. YOU!!!! Are looking at this in a Human Concept. The sin sacrifice has to be without blemish or defect. The Bulls and Rams etc. were not permanent and so every year people had to atone for their sins. This was performed by a Priest. With Jesus, He was the once for all sacrifice past, present and future! He is referred to as the Lamb without blemish or defect! God did not sacrifice Jesus, the priests did! Though in their Hypocrisy they did not realize it.
So, in answer to your last question, it the establishment of Jesus as King of the Jews, at misconception the people had at that time, though it was a foreseen event. One Judas Iscariot failed to see. He thought Jesus was to establish His Kingship at that time and when Jesus did not, Judas betrayed Him. Worked out perfect from a Spiritual concept and not a human concept which misleads many.

The God that I know from the Old Testament will never be that stupid to let His son die for the offenses made by people He just created. Much more by giving the theory of Trinity where the religion explain that they are personality of One God and not three Gods. It is logical therefore that they are suggesting that it is God himself who went down took human flesh and claim Himself to be His own son who is willing to die just save His creation from His own anger. Ain't that more stupid?
You also have to read Deuteronomy 24:16, Ezekiel 18:3-26 and Jeremiah 31: 29-30. Those three chapters of the Old Testament are agreeably stating that the one who sin is responsible for his own sin. So, there is no need for Jesus to die for that cause.

I agree I don't get the sacrifice part either..they say Jesus died for our sins but then he went to heaven and is with God now anyway, right?(they say)..was the sacrifice that an immortal being had to spend 32 years away from his father...who i guess he spoke with every day through his visions or mind etc...32 years seems like a small amount of time to an immortal being ...just has never made sense to me

ok, I listened. THIS is my answer.
I dont know if you are a parent or not, but think of it this way...
It is definitely a sacrifice to ALLOW your child to be murdered. Not the "smart" thing if your thinking is lowly "human" standpoints but definitely a sacrifice - that is undeniable.
Secondly. The humanity and divinity of Jesus was completely real, seperate, whole, and truth. So, there we have it. Not really a concept a lot of people can grasp. That is where "faith" comes in. It sounds cliche but really there is no way around it. You dont really understand the concept of Jesus being ALL God and ALL Man until you have this intangible thing called FAITH.
Basically, if a parent sees ahead, knows that their 1 yr old is going to fall flat on his face as he tries to balance himself and reach for something at the same time, the parent will KNOW what is going to happen. The babe falls. But, what happened out of that? The parent didnt stop it and the baby fell? Does that mean the parent loved the baby LESS? NO! It means the parent knew and LET it happened for the good of the child - the growing experience that the baby needed to grow and mature. It doesnt mean thought that it didnt hurt the parent to watch there babe fall. It hurts a lot, but it is a sacrifice to LET our children live and learn for themselves for the good it gives them in the long run.
God is the exact same way. Him being a parent and all.
It is a lot easier to grasp if you think of it in those terms. Real terms.

***Foreseen events CAN have sacrifice!! Example: A full time single mother - full time work - full time house - is choosing to go to full time school. She KNOWS there will ALOT of sacrifice that will be terribly painful but still does it anyways to get her degree for the benifits of the long run. Does this mean there is no sacrifice then? There still is, even if she FORE-SAW sacrifice.

Great question. It's something that's right in line with what I've questioned throughout the years... how could an all-powerful, all-knowing, and omnipresent God be so completely out of reach and incommunicado. Doesn't matter to me if an individual feels as though they are in direct communication with God... that's a bit bizarre (to me).

And WHY would an all-powerful, all-knowing, and omnipresent God let a couple people (imaginary in my view) like Adam and Eve mess things up for the rest of us?

Free will = HIV, Aids, Cancer, War, Hunger, Poverty, Destruction, Famine, Plague, Disease and Murder??? Why are people unquestionably devoted to pie in the sky?

Would it be different if they were born in a different country, with a different God... or in a different family without the same views... yes it would. So all in all, religious people are a product of their environment. No matter how into faith they become, most were given roots in their families from early on.

Others become brainwashed as they move through life. I am not questioning your faith in a God (though it may sound that way). I am merely expressing my opinion. I do however question your religion, as it seems to only cause problems in this world.

1) Jesus' greatest suffering was not physical dying. It was taking the blame for everyone's sins even though He had never commited any sin and was guiltless. Another part of his suffering was the fact that he was God and took the guilt and punishment for our sins. Imagine that you bio-engineered some kind of an animal. That animal has a free will that allows him to follow your directions or not. The animal harms somebody and gets caught. The punishment for his harm is death. Instead of letting your "animal" perish you go to the "punisher" and tell him not to kill your animal because it was your fault. The punisher then takes your life. 2) Son refers to him being born of God/ or created of God. He was born of a virgin and "conceived" of the Holy Spirit. This means that he had his mother X chromosome and God's Y chromosome. Jesus conception is a miracle in itself and nobody knows how it really happed.

this is a very good and a very important question.

It centres around the entire purpose of creation. God created man to have fellowship with Him. To love, honour, commune with etc.
That being said, we all know that man turned to sin, and yes, God knew it would happen.
Here's the deal.
We must truly understand what sin is before anwering this question. Sin is perpetuated by the first rebellion, but ultimately affects the ENTIRETY of creation. Sin is not a wrongdoing - sin simply IS. It's like a cloud - it encompasses all of creation and all of our inmost being. That's why Satan has the rule of the world right now.
Because of rebellion, God had to separate Himself from the sin. Sin cannot commune with God - it's impossible. But because God loved us, He had a plan. A plan to save us in the only way He could.
Throughout the ages, the laws were layed down for man to be reconciled to God. Sacrifice, penance, forgiveness, circumcision (for the chosen Jewish Race) etc. But all of that was only temporary. Since sin affected everything, God knew that eventually He would have to erradicate the sin Himself.
He devised a plan of salvation that involved the only sinless being ever in existance - Himself incarnate as Jesus (or His Son) as Jesus was born in the flesh to dwell among us.
Jesus knew from the beginning that He would have to give Himself as the only perfect sacrifice to erradicate sin and reconcile man back to God. It was the only way and it was the most loving thing any father could do.

The person who posted that a parent of teens could answer this is right. You have a rebellious teen. Most days there isn't any way you even want to be around them... they are rude, they are unlovely, they swear, they disobey, they stink, they are messy and treat you like dirt, but the bottom line is YOU STILL LOVE THEM and you want them to be reconciled to you. You want them to return to the morals and lessons you taught them. You want nothing but the best for them no matter what. So you sacrifice yourself for them. You help them out when they stumble and make mistakes. You prepare a place for them when they are down in the dumps. And most importantly - you welcome them back when they stray so far as to harm themselves or someone else....

That's what God did - but on the grandest scale ever.

blessings and peace to you - I hope in some small way this was able to help you better understand who God is.

:)

Please read to the END. We are born sinful. We all have inhereted the sinful nature that was brought upon us by Adam and Eve. God requires restitution for all sin. Sin can not enter Heaven. Sin caused us to die. Death is complete separation from God and all of His blessings like air, water, food, love, other people, comfort, and etc.

God Himself came to the earth in the form of His Son, the man Jesus Christ. Jesus is 100% human and 100% God. Jesus' blood is the atonement that God requires for the removal of our sins and our sin nature because He never sinned. All through the OT, God told the people that they must sacrifice a blood offering for the attonement of their sins. This was a prelude to Jesus. He is the sacrifice once and for all. Jesus willfully allowed Himself to be the sacrificial Lamb.

The thing about this sacrifice is that Jesus took all of the sin of the whole world upon Himself and died in our place to keep us from suffering the horror of death and separation from God.

2 Corinthians 5:21 tells us that God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

The above verse tells us that Jesus not only died for us but He became our sin. That is why God had to allow this to happen because our sin was crucified and put to death. This was the ultimate sacrifice.

While Jesus was in the garden waiting for the soldiers to come and get Him. He knew that all of the sin of the whole world, that is everyone who ever lived and would live, would be placed upon Him. He could have called legions of angels to take Him down from the cross but, He did not. His love for you and me was so strong that He willfully did the deed.

All that God asks of us is to accept His Son as our Lord and Savior and repent of our sins that Jesus went to the cross for. Which means to realize that we have sinned and that Jesus died in our place for us and to appreciate His sacrifice.

Jesus' reward is the same as ours. Eternal life. Jesus is now King of Kings and Lord of Lords. He has overcome death, disease and Satan. You can too by accepting His sacrifice for yourself. Blessings.

God caused him who knew no sin (Jesus) to become sin for us.

That is - all the evil deeds you have ever committed, everything evil that is in your heart and mine, God took from us and he put it into Jesus and he punished all the sins we would ever commit in Jesus.

Jesus's physical suffering was intense, but it was nothing compared to the spiritual suffering and emotional and mental anguish he went though when he bore my sins in his body and endured the Father's wrath and rejection for deeds and attitudes that I had committed and not him.

What kind of punishment does a child molestor or rapist or serial killer deserve? Multiply that times billions of souls that Jesus's was dying for on that cross and you have some idea maybe of the suffering that God inflicted on Jesus for OUR sakes.

Think about it - Jesus never had to be born, he chose to be born, he never had to live on this wicked, sinful, broken planet - he was the king of paradise! Just being born here and stripped of his glory and mocked and spat on and rejected is a sacrifice, and then you have the sins of the world punished on top of that...

Are you starting to get some idea?
