Why do some people feel compelled to write a novella when asking a simple question?

i hear ya

if a question start with ok, or there is this boy/girl i skip it

beyond 3 sentences, I lose interest

i wouldn't say "compelled", but they probably feel they need to be more specific for the other person to understand. even though "clear and concise"is the best way to go
