The map lights work but the dome light and the load lights don't. It doesn't seem to be a fuse. What could it be?

It's not the bulbs, the fuses or the roller switch. All of these have been replaced. the map lights work when you push them on, but they don't come on when the door is opened. The door ajar light comes on when any one of the doors is opened so I don't think it's a door switch. The dome lights and the lights on the back door don't work at all.

Caravan Interior Lights

If none of your interior lights come on when you open the door try this. On your dash panel on the left side of the steering column there is a role type switch that you can slide up and down, someone may have move that without your knowledge. Play with that switch while the door is open. If the interior lights don't come on it may be a door switch. Try opening and closing all doors one at a time, if still no lights it could be a simple fuse. Worse case scenario is a wiring problem, sometime they can be tough and expensive to locate. I hope that this helps.

it could be one of the door jam switch's gone bad on it also, and there is a fuse for those that will blow, about the only way sometimes you can tell that a fuse is bad is to pull it out and check it,our dodge has a separate fuse for the interior light ,and then has another one for the map lights, its very possible it has blown on it,id check them all just to be real sure,if it turns out not to be a fuse id say it has a bad switch on it good luck with it,hope this helps.

The dome lamp should have a small sliding three position switch, off all the time, on all the time and working in conjuction with the door jam switches. Check to see if that might be the problem. Good luck

I work at a Dodge dealership and I have noticed MOST of the time, for Caravans that year, when all the interior lights fail, it is the Body Control Module.
