Sorry my explination got cut out I was on my PSP because I was in Panera. But I would like to see if I could give him my kidney because I love my cousin a lot. He deserves to live. His father gave him his kidney when he first had a transplant, and his mom can't give him hers. I know there are many complications but I really want him to survive. He is starting dialisys* spelled it wrong. But anyway my cousin means a lot to me even though I have about 22 more, but he is special. All of my older cousins around his age pick on him sometimes. But me and my brother have fun being around him without being mean to him. He also can give you a good laugh when you are down. I know I may not be able to help if I am not compatiable but I want him to find someone who is willing.

What a wonderful cousin you are to do this very generous and noble act of kindness and love. There are numerous things that must be considered, however. Since you are only 14, you would have to have your parents' permission. Also, and most important, you would have to be a match. Thirdly, while you can function very well with one kidney, there would always be the possibility that if your remaining kidney failed, you would either have to go on dialysis or have a transplant yourself. Also, there may be moral, ethical or religious considerations. So this is a decision not to be taken lightly. Discuss the matter with your parents and your doctor to see if such a sacrifice on your part would even be feasible. Perhaps you would have to be of age before you could even qualify as a donor. After getting all the information and approval, and if you are a match, then I'd say your cousin is very blessed to have you as a family member. Good luck and God bless you, dear!

Talk to your parents about getting tested to see if your kidney is even an option. It's hard to find a match for organs, but relatives do have a better chance.
Good luck!

That is very nice of you.

Most of the times, hospitals do not consider minor child as a potential donor. This is a kind of decision that is way beyond your ability to fully understand the risks. (which includes your own death or life long complications)

Let him know you are thinking of him and be supportive of him. That is all you can do.

There are many tests involved concerning compatibility. You may not be a match.

Also, someday you may have a husband, or child who needs a kidney and if you give it away now...
