There doesn't have to be a purpose. We are here because the conditions were right and the resources were there.
Any purpose to your life, you have to give it yourself.

open the wrong can of tuna and you could be serving a porpoise.
An external God is an imaginary friend for adults and another boogey man for children.
"In the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God, He existed in the beginning with God. God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him. The word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone. The light shines in the darkness and the darkness can never extinguish it."
We live in a story God created to pass eternity. God is a fantasy writer! As characters in God's story we are part of god in a holographic way where each part contains the whole because the whole contains each part. Why do bad things happen to good people? It advances the plot. Why does science make new discoveries all the time? To fill in the holes in the internal logic of the story. Time? Just a way to keep the "pages" in order.
Our purpose? The cosmic equivalent of cable television with trillions of channels to choose from. When you get boring God just flips the station or turns the page.

Where to start with you....hmmm. You're wrong. There is a purpose for you. To find it you have to know God and pursue a relationship with His son, Jesus. As you learn about Him and the Kingdom, He will bring things your way to accomplish. Slowly, over time, He will lead you into an area He already has prepared you for.
I'm a retired cop and I do prison ministry. I hated criminals, but He showed me it was the sin, not the sinner I needed to hate.. I never would have believed it, but God presented the opportunity at the right moment in my spiritual walk, and here I am. Go figure. God is amazing. You don't know what you're missing.

There are several Bible Studies that you can get from a christian book store that will answer that for you much better than I can--I suggest you get a book called "The Purpose Driven Life"==you can probably get it at the Library and it's real easy reading! The Bible (KJV) says our purpose for being here is to glorify God. God is Love--think about it!

In Genesis, it says man's purpose was to expand the Garden of Eden to all the earth. He was to accomplish this with many perfect children. He was given, in addition to free will that has much talked about, curiosity. With unlimited life span, human curiosity could go wild.

I'm not a member of any religion and I don't believe in the Bible, but I do believe we are here for a purpose. I personally feel that we are here to learn and to become the best people we can be.

I think anything that makes humans unique is a purpose to be filled.
If you feel the need to be upholding justice..that is your purpose
If you feel the need to write poetry..that is your purpose
But overall I think, writing is one unique trait.
Simply knowing how to write gives us purpose
Also, during the course of history, humans had different purposes. At first our purpose was just to survive, then how to improve our lifestyles, then how to read and write and communicate through the ages.
To write..yep ^^

well its kinda selfish to think that we are specially made in God's image and placed here by God, if there is a god. So why not try to make a positive difference and that can be your purpose.
