No, its not normal. In fact, no human is normal, we all have some abnormalities. Maybe u have to much stress in your life and just need to sort things out. By drinking you are trying to forget about your anxiety and problems and that is why you can't stop-cuz ur trying to forget about all the stressful situations in your life. But, by drinking all the time, u are actually creating more stressful situations and increasing ur anxiety. U believe ur brain will not focus on the stuff you don't want it to focus on, but, instead u are creating a chemical imbalance in ur body which leads to many mental and psychological effects as well as damage ur health. Hey, I'm no psychologist, but i think u need to stop running away from urself and try to think things through without having to take an alternative route-abusing alcohol to forget about ur problems. This is more serious than u think, I think u should get some help asap. See a doc or psychologists-don't worry, u probably don't have a mental disorder and ur not crazy!! There are more people out there like you. Good Luck and have a happy and healthy life!!

alcoholism is a disease of mind, body, and spirit and it affects every area of life of the person who has it. i myself have it and actually can remember not remembering and not knowing who i am. It is extremely normal to experience these things. Most people would never stop drinking if they didnt experience these consequences. You can stop drinking with help. You are your worst enemy and best drinking buddy right now. You need help. AA is a great approach, or NA for that matter, to this disease. The therapeutic value of one drunk/addict helping another is without parallel. Try this website and get to a meeting. http://www.alcoholics-anonymous.org/

It is normal for that life style. Just be aware of trying to quit. Go into DT's and die.
