It will be harder than getting a home loan...

Unless you have some assets or a co-signer to secure the loan.

First things first : improve your credit score, then ask for a loan.

Have you tried your bank ???

College Girl,

If you have really bad credit... you can get a private student loan, however you will need to have a credit-worthy co-signer for the loan(s) that you will be taking out. That is basically your saving grace. Private loans are not guaranteed like Stafford loans are and as a result the lenders want to have as many options as possible at collecting their money. Most lenders have a variety of private loans to offer you... Sallie Mae offers Career Training Loans through Sallie Mae Financial, a Tuition Answer loan, Signature Student Loans, etc....

I only offer Sallie Mae as a choice because I work for them and know what's available and what is needed.
