Yes:
Mosiah 4:14-15
"And ye will not suffer your children that they will go hungry, or naked; neither will ye suffer that they transgress the laws of God, and fight and quarrel one with another, and serve the devil, who is the master of sin, or who is the evil spirit which hath been spoken of by our fathers, he being an enemy to all righteousness.
"But ye will teach them to walk in the ways of truth and soberness; ye will teach them to love one another, and to serve one another."
I have raised my children to not fight and argue. They are older now, and are great friends to each other. Other people notice how much they love one another.
The Book of Mormon is also the word of God, along with the Bible.

I have read the whole thing and it is most definitely NOT true. It is racist to the core. Bad people have their skin turn dark and good people have their skin lighten up. this is where the LDS get the racist beliefs that they still have today. They believe that black people were "less valiant" in the "pre-existence" and that is why they were born with dark skin. The book of mormon contains stories involving warfare with horse-drawn chariots at a time when there were no horses in the americas.. It talks of steel weapons and armor and various coins, things which would have been found by now. it makes the claim that the american indians are descended from Jews.. DNA has proven this to be false. I could go on and on. it is not only fiction, It is REALLY BAD fiction.

Yes, but I don't know any verses from it that I can remember.
But I do have a favorite verse in the Bible:
Zechariah 5:1: And I looked and behold I saw a flying roll.

I've read through the Book of Mormon many times. I gain a greater understanding of the gospel each time I read it. I love this book!
Here is one of my favorite passages from Moroni:
Moroni 7:45-47
45 And charity suffereth long, and is kind, and envieth not, and is not puffed up, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil, and rejoiceth not in iniquity but rejoiceth in the truth, beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
46 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, if ye have not charity, ye are nothing, for charity never faileth. Wherefore, cleave unto charity, which is the greatest of all, for all things must fail—
47 But charity is the pure love of Christ, and it endureth forever; and whoso is found possessed of it at the last day, it shall be well with him.

My husband and I alternate reading the OT, NT, and The Book of Mormon. We read through one a year.
My favorite verse from the Book of Mormon is Alma 29:01-04
"Oh that I were an angel, and could have the wish of mine heart, that I might go forth and speak with the trump of God, with a voice to shake the earth, and cry repentance unto every people!"
"Yea, I would declare unto every soul, as with the voice of thunder, repentance and the plan of redemption, that they should repent and come unto our God, that there might not be more sorrow upon all the face of the earth."
"But behold, I am a man, and do sin in my wish; for I ought to be content with the things which the Lord hath allotted unto me."
"I ought not to harrow up in my desires, the firm decree of a just God, for I know that he granteth unto men according to their desire, whether it be unto death or unto life; yea, I know that he allotteth unto men, yea, decreeth unto them decrees which are unalterable, according to their wills, whether they be unto salvation or unto destruction."

My favorite is Alma 7:11 because it encapsulates the Atonement into one verse, discussing how the Atonement covers sin, but really, so much more.
"And he shall go forth, suffering pains and afflictions and temptations of every kind, and this that the word might be fulfilled, which saith he will take upon him the pains and afflications and temptations of every kind."
(I hope that's close; it's from memory)
