What did 12th grade mean to you?
Did you like your first years at college?
Did you have anything important (other than graduation) occur in 12th grade?

It may be the last time you transitioned from one institution to another (if you have been going to school continuously) you might see that as the last time you really changed or had to change, so it could be telling you that perhaps you don't want to do that Ph.D discertation workup or perhaps it's telling you to get your game face on and do exactly that.

Its entirely dependent on your circumstances and what you feel about the things in your dreams.

People from Yahoo aren't the best resource for this kind of thing, one of us might get lucky and hit the nail on the head but then again ,it's a big universe and there's almost certainly a monkey somewhere banging out Shakespeare in it as well, I'm just not looking for the monkey.

Its a good excuse for coffee and conversation with a friend or family member though, someone who knows you more intimately.

It could mean that the being in the 12th grade was a very special year for you and subconsciously you never wanted to leave. This is not uncommon. People ususally have dreams about their child hood long into their old age, because their were points in their childhood which were special to them. So as as result, we keep those thoughts and the thoughts manifest into our dream life.

In your description of the dream, you mention that you are "trying to graduate." What does that feel like? Is it frustrating? Overwhelming? Challenging? It is likely that, whatever emotions accompany that situation are feelings you are holding just under the surface in your daily life now. Very often, our dreams are our subconscious mind's way of telling us to deal with feelings we have been ignoring. I'm certainly not an expert, but I have experienced something very like this before, more than once.

You are feeling frustrated. You are in a situation whether work or relationship that you don't feel you can overcome.
