COG refers to Church of God which was founded by Herbert W. Armstrong in 1933 named then, The Radio Church of God and then changed to The Worldwide Church of God.
If you are referring to a seperate COG, I think COG more commonly refers to HWA's church and people will not understand. I was a member of COG as a child, if you are meaning HWA's church, I can help but I know nothing of The Children of God you refer to.
Upon inspection on google I found several websites related to The Family as it is commonly referred to.
