Nobody will be surprised if Bush's comments on long term military presence in Iraq (the S.Korea model) will sparkle more anti-US activities.

Maybe German, Italians, S.Koreans and Japanese are used to it, but definitely not Iraqis, or people in some other countries - such as UK, Russia, China.... They will fight to death.

They won't. I have spent the last seven year's with a half-wit for a supreme commander. This is the second stupidest idea he has had in the whole time. I mean the first was going back to Iraq at all with a half assed plan. I mean where is a DMZ? These people have hated each other for hundred's or at least a thousand plus year's. Bush was clearly a party boy, he never studied in his life at College. So we are going to put a Division or two in Iraq for the next fifty year's? They live in the same city's and towns. They hate each other. So where is a DMZ? What do our troop's do? Try to control these idiot's for the next fifty year's? From an "enclave"? This is the stupidest idea in some way's Bush ever had.

They won't.
Bush is talking out of his a** again.

What do you think the reaction would have been if Bush had laid out the following prior to our invading Iraq?

"My fellow Americans, I am going to invade Iraq to depose Sadam Hussein. He is mean and he has used chemical weapons against his own people.
This war will cost over $4 billion dollars, over 3,500 of our sons and daughters lives, will last more than 4 years, stretch our military to it's limits, will open the country up to Al-Qaida and like groups, so that we can then have a permanent military presence there just like South Korea."

What a moron.

sorry mate you have this somewhat out of kinds. bush led conflict on terror has no longer something to do with korea. korea isn't a terrorist state, that's in keeping with danger a rogue state because of the fact it withdrew from the NPT in 2003 and is now attempting out weapons. that's violating UN rules yet has no longer attacked all people. it might desire to in spite of the undeniable fact that, use its technologies as a political pawn to income ability in its part of the worldwide. if it tries to try this, we could merely say i'm happy i stay interior the united kingdom and not the U. S., China or South Korea. north korea does what it needs, and it is not elementary to tell them what to do on the grounds that they have nuclear weapons and a grumpy chief.

They won't allow it.

South Koreans wanted our presence there, minus a person here and there.

In polls, 1% of Iraqis support a permanent occupation by the US.

I don't think they are going to like it.. and even if the Iraqi agreed.. there are too many terrorist factions that are going to cause problems..

We can't just decide to occupy a country.. we were supposed to be there to help.. not to overtake them.

They could do a lot worse than becoming another South Korea.
