if it's been kept away from bugs, it should be Ok. (pasta usually comes dried and dried things usually don't have eat by dates.)

5 years is a bit too long. I think the shelf-life of dried pasta is about 2 years. I wouldn't eat it unless I was absolutely desperate.

When you take the pasta out of the bag..have a look...if its stale or too old it will turn white . also look for crumbs at the bottom of the bag or box...sometimes little flour bugs will be living there. As a rule...3 months is probably as far as i would go...Pasta is cheap...just get some more..If your broke or to lazy to go to the store....try it...it wont kill you..it will just taste starchy and old.

As long as it has been kept in a cool, dry place it should be fine.

I don't think it will be unhealthy, but I don't know how good it will taste either.
