the only medical thing I know of involving tobacco is if you get stung by a wasp or bee after removing the stinger applying wet tobacco to the sting will make it stop hurting by neutralizing the venom

There is a medical condition that can be helped by smoking appx 1 cigarette a day... I can't remember the name of it, but it was mentioned on the show "House" and it is real.

when I was young my granddad used his tobacco on a wasp sting to help the swelling go down untill they got me to the hospital.
