Finish the work started by John-Paul II, he apologised to the world for all the awful things that the Holy Roman Church perpetrated on the world, but particularly the non-'Christian' world during the great European colonial era, circa 1400 - 1950 ad.
Therefore, next it would be good to see an admission that Rome tried to stifle the Nag Hammadi texts, but utterly suppress the Dead Sea Scrolls, by controlling them for over 50 years. Had this not been the case the information contained in them could have been freely available since the mid-1950's, a very critical period in world history, education, and religious re-adjustment. especially in view of the behaviour of the Roman Church in the events leading up to, and during, WW II, the present papal incumbent being particularly concerned.
Secondly it is probably a good time for Rome to admit that the whole thing has been nothing but an exercise in political and economic control for almost two thousand years, and that it was founded in lies and deceit, and been responsible for nothing but pain, suffering and bloodshed for most of that time. And that, at this moment, it would be good to hear another apology, linked to an act of atonement of monumental proportions. A restitution of all of the Vatican wealth to the world's disadvantaged populations, and the re-structuring of the organisational structure of the Church of Rome into a global relief organism, with the main emphasis being on the education of peoples in poorer and less wealthy nations how to become self-sufficient again, as quickly, and in a manner as ecologically viable as reasonably possible.
One of the major points of concentration should be on the ensuring of clean and renewable water resources to all the people of the world. Water seems to most of us an issue to be taken for granted. Beware, it has already raised it's ugly head in a few countries like Bolivia, and we will be hearing more and more about this. The 'Controllers' are aware that this fundamental resource will become as critical as energy in the next few decades.
That would seem to me to be an appropriate pair of reforms for this despicable edifice to ignorance and greed.

1. Install more bishops and priests who take EVERY Church teaching seriously.
2. Tell Ted Kennedy, Nancy Pelosi, John Kerry, Rudy Giuliani, Ah-nold, and all the other pro-abortion Catholic politicians that they're not immune from ecclesiastical sanction just because they're politicians -- they're still Catholic and still bound by the same teachings that the rest of us Catholics are.

Doing away with celebacy...or maybe having a "Priest Corps" where you sign up for 4 yrs at a time, therefore leaving the option open for a normal life at any time.
Doing away with praying to saints.
Being atheist, I would do away with religion, but those are just two problems that I see that exist in Catholicism.

1. To be committed to the gospel of grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:" (Eph. 2:8)
2. Reform the worship to only worship God as Scripture directs.
"God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth." (John 4:24 also see Deut. 12:32, Mark 7:7)

Ditch the pope. Give everyone a Bible and tell them to read it and the priests to be quiet.
