Yea, they are talking about time and how it is flying past too quickly, and they are trying to clear their mind to realize what they are trying to think, and so they write things like that poem to help them figure out life and why things are the way they are.

A Poetical Exegesis of a Poem - by KingReef ( Tuberoot)
I look into the depths and see
[ the eyes, they worketh]
My reflection looking back at me.
[depth perception is pretty good too]
Nothing else seems true and real.
[the mind though, gone]
Except what I know and what I feel.
[okay, so not completely numb]
There cold is hot and hot is cold.
[I think that's an acid trip ( LSD)]
Young is nothing but very old.
[definitely an acid trip]
This makes no sense to anyone but me.
[ call the paramedics and don't do anything 'trippy']
It is simply a note about what I see.
[okay, slightly coherent]
I ramble I write to clear my head.
[ good, coming back to reality]
I feed my soul with simple bread.
[ yes, LSD is commonly laced with speed, eat]
This things are all that I hold true.
[ Maybe less acid and more English class]
There is no explanation to what I do.
[yep, commonly a druggy]
Ignore my ramblings take no heed.
[ might be coming out of it]
I write to fill a foolish need.
[ good, good, keep going]
I simply need to clear my mind.
[ that's the most sense this has made so far!]
Until a simpler path I find.
[ That's right, sleep. And never do it again!]

in a strange way i kind of understand what you are saying. questioning reality and things we think are "concrete" can bring about an inner peace. however doing this too much can be very overwhelming, especially if you are trying to find a simpler path.
but then again this is just my opinion, the true meaning of this is within you.
i really like your poem, the 2 lines i like the most are:
I ramble I write to clear my head.
I feed my soul with simple bread.
good stuff, keep writing!

It's about not understanding life yet....and not knowing where the writer fits into the scheme of things.....they are confused but have the need to voice their confusion openly and loud....in hopes that someone else can straighten out their thoughts for them or at least give them a clue to what's going on.......it's a plea for help and guidance.....ultimately all these ramblings are hoped to formulate into something that the writer can pull together cohesively into a pattern for his own existence and life style......I think they expressed their confusion very well......it is very common amongst younger people growing up to feel this way....as they learn more and more about the rigors of life and how to cope with what they don't comprehend.....

The writer has reached a point in their life where most things are rather meaningless or have no real value to them.
While still moderately seeking some form of meaning, they are still coming up with only themselves to rely upon.
They have accepted the fact that nothing is what they thought it was in the past and that it is likely to change unpredictably again before life is through.

i found it cute
but dear, poetry doesnt need to make sense ^^
so that anyone who reads it, relates to it from a personal point of view
as for me, I think I liked the ending more, because it pretty much sums up why you wrote the poem and gives me an insight into your brain: you needed to write just for the sake of writing ^^
very cool

as quickly as we thought shall we set up a house for poets wherein they'd take trip journeys and artwork on their poetry in as plenty privateness and peace as they wanted or interior the business enterprise of their friends. At evening, it could have been a sort of yank salon as they used to have in France for the period of the Renaissance. we'd occasion each and every evening and study our artwork to a minimum of one yet another and help one yet another with the guy poems and with poetry commonly. we truthfully thought this would come to bypass or maybe had a construction concentrated interior the Mid-West of the country, so as that poets ought to get admission to it from all aspects of this land. Then, alongside got here the financial crash, and it grew to become impossible. consistent with threat that replaced into for the appropriate, inspite of each and everything...

Sorry but I really can't stand any kind of poetry. But I know from being a musician that consistent rhyming, while still retaining the meaning, is a very difficult thing to do. So kudos to you for doing it so well!

It is "precious." Before you get excited that is a pejorative term in art. The poem has little artistic value at all. Although I will state that the metaphor of young being old is sensitive and thoughtful.

Perhaps it's someone who yearns to see beyond their reflection in the water...........to see the elements of the depths that lie below the surface film of water at which they stare.............to see what truly lies within the depths of their own soul, rather than just what they see at the surface. Probably someone who's searching for greater and deeper meaning to their existence and life itself.
Oh...Debra you wrote that? You're very poetic!!! you truly have a wonderful gift! ;)
