I want to go to a private school because of the uniforms. In public schools people judge you on your clothes a lot. But I don't want to go to a private school if it's religious, so are all private schools religious?

not all are religious.

some private schools use methods which the public schools have not adopted, examples include Steiner [Waldorf] and Montessori schools.

My limited experience with schools that use different instruction methods is that they suit some children very well indeed and other children poorly. I do not know how to predict which teaching methods will suit which specific children well.

No. Uniforms are not a great reason, but I remember my son getting judged or even beaten up based on what he wore, so I see where you are coming from.
Some schools are not religious but are sponsored by churches...I'm thinking of the Friends schools. Sponsored by Quakers because they believe in education. But they do not believe in a particular "creed" of beliefs. My sister who is atheistic sent her kids to the Friends school - just a nice, accepting learning environment without pushing religion on anyone.

Religious Institutions start up and support most private schools in our country, and they usually offer courses based on their religion to you regardless of your denomination.
