oh I can TELL you right and wrong, I just can't MAKE you believe it. a compass only points you in the right direction; it doesn't make you go there.

It's very normal to feel the way you do. I don't blame you at all. I remember feeling that way too. A lot of people feel the same way you do.

When I decided to search for truth- it made sense to me that I must be willing to drop all my pre-set ways of thinking; all my assumptions and presuppositions, in order to hear what GOD thinks.

I had been brain-washed by religious parents, then again by school, then again by life. All that had to go so as to give the Truth a chance.

What I did NOT let go of was a thinking brain. A brain to compare, sift, and analyze- checking for consistency and logic. God's logic can be ABOVE ours but it cannot be contrary to logic in general. Truth is consistent- it cannot have contradictions.

So I cleared the mental table. I listened. I weighed, compared, contrasted, eliminated what was weak, kept what was strong. I tossed out what contradicted; I held fast what stayed harmonious to the rest. I spent YEARS doing this.

If a doctor trains for years to diagnose your body- do you object to his enlightened expertise? In the same way, I have done years of private study, and also graduated from 2 separate Bible Colleges.

Is it wrong to imagine that I'm enlightened enough to help others? As far as having a mind of my own- I had that before- and discovered I was messing up my life badly with it. I needed to find the truth. I needed to clear my own predjudices out of the way. I have examined and studied for more than twenty years. I'm happy to say that now I have far more of God's thoughts in my head than of my own.

What a fabulous difference it's made. It's saved my life and my mariage, my jobs and everything that is of importance to me.

I recommend getting enlightened they way you say- even though I don't believe I've ever THUMPED a Holy Bible. Where does that even come from? ;)

The Bible, especially the New Testament, is a fabrication of the Roman Emperors to pacify a rebellious Judea, who subsequently edited the Old Testament ex post facto to prophesize about the Roman invented Jesus myth.
