The Statue of Liberty faces Brooklyn - southeast. Her "rear" faces New Jersey.
When we lived in Brooklyn, we could see The Statue of Liberty and the Verrazano Bridge from the terrace (the greatest view of holiday fireworks). We also had a great view of the Coney Island Pier (fireworks every Friday night during the summer). And then, new housing went up and the view was gone.
