Within walking distance of fun stuff?

Easy parking? Good prices? Safe place?

I don't know about JCH being 'cool.' It's safe enough but you have to have a car & take a bus to the Path trains. There isn't much to do around there. In some blocks you may be able to walk to restaurants & grocery stores but in general, you should have a car. You can live w/o one but it'll be hard to get groceries etc. In general, NJ is best if you own a car.
I find it pretty boring actually. There's no night life & all the shops seem to close early. The few stores are 'mom & pop' type' old-school places. It's kinda like being stuck in a time warp if you ask me. It's convenient to NYC tho.
Parking isn't that easy. It's better than NY but still not like you can just get a spot any time. The prices are good tho. $800-900 for a decent size1BR. That's pretty good when u consider how close to NYC it is.

Nice place.
But if you want a back yard and lots of outdoor things, go west to Waldwick or one of the BErgen County towns.
