It would be great if THEY did. This is not about Kyle, it's about the team. Billy Wilburn is the one who called the race. Kyle was the one behind the wheel. There's a lot of years of racing in that team and they understand the importance of the big gamble when it's time to roll the dice. Billy saw the big picture: they had nothing to loose by going for it. And Kyle had kept them within reach of the top for most of the second half. He ran really good times all evening. He avoided disasater when the 48 car lost the tread and it came straight into the 45's hood. The pit crew continually worked on that front end to get it repaired the whole race. In fact, the tire tread problem is why they got their pit sequence "off" and what allowed them to go to the end without that final splash of gas the others needed. The entire team optimized their individual parts of the equation. It paid off. Will it carry over to this week? Let's hope so. I believe they are all pumped. It's Kyle's last drive for five weeks. I just hope they are pumped and not over zealous with that high from last week. If they can know that they have what it takes to run well and and re-create the same efforts this week, then I think we could see a strong finish this week. I have all my fingers and toes crossed.

Hey, that would be great. I like Kyle Petty, and I think he's a good guy. It's nice to have different drivers get good positions for a change, instead of the usual guys you always see. Kyle Petty has done so much with charities and such, and I believe that he deserves not only a top 5 but a win! I think that after his great finish this last race, he will have a new-found self esteem that will hopefully get him a nice position (or win) at Dover.

I seriously doubt it. He was just lucky enough to avoid the wrecks and not go a lap down. There were only (if I remember correctly) 14 or 15 cars on the lead lap when the checkered flew. Petty was fortunate enough with the fuel issues to be able to stay out until the end. No, he won't start a trend of good finishes, just got lucky this time.

I'd like to think that he could, the man has done some great things for the sport and also with his founding of the Victory Junction Gang Camp, he was running well at Lowe's all day on Sunday and you can think whatever you want about fuel mileage but he earned that finish, think about how well Bobby Labonte is running, he's only one spot out of being chase eligible, with Petty being his teammate i see only better things to come of Petty.

nope cuz if there had been a caution there at the end he wouldn't have finished that high because then everyone would have stopped for fuel. I'm not sure what was the bigger news that weekend, the fact that Mears won, Kyle having a top 5 finish or Gordon's wreck.

I don't know, maybe this will be a good year for him. I was pretty amazed to by his finish. The're were alot of drivers that usually don't finish very well actually did pretty good, and the ones who do didn't finish worth a hoot. I always like the 600 because its always anybody's game and who gonna make to the end. Good question

I like Kyle Petty but sadly he's not the driver his dad was, so I have to say NO. Look what happened last week all the best drivers were out of the race for some reason or another, and again I think he got a little lucky with his fuel milage and other drivers did not.

He can. Dover is the last track where Kyle won a race, and he always runs good there. I don't think he'll win but could easily be in the Top 5.

He sure thinks he can. Especially with the COT. Personally, I think it would be AWESOME for a Petty to win again. If only Adam were behind the wheel instead. May he rest in peace.
