Ok, I will give this a shot. I read the other question, and I do recommend seeing a doctor the first opportunity you have.
In the meantime, let's talk about calories.
First, 600 calories a day is not healthy. However, you do need to be in a calorie deficit to lose weight. That deficit can come from exercise, diet, or a combination. In your case, you are looking to create your deficit with diet only.
The first thing you need to determine is the number of calories you need to maintain your current weight. Once you do that, then, to lose 1 pound per week, subtract 500 from that number.
There is a pretty simple to use calorie calculator here:
http://www.build-muscle-and-burn-fat.com/calorie-calculator.html
that will give you an estimate of the number of calories you need to lose a pound or two per week.

600 calories is NOT healthy. The things that go along with a sedentary life-style aren't healthy, either, so it's a hard place to be.
So, I'm thinking you feel a LOT of stuck between a rock and a hard place. For 3 months I had to go the completely sedentary route and it's not much better now.
However, have you tried exercising in water pool walking? Water gives good resistance, yet your joints are supported by the water. Isometrics can be done without involving joints, too.
It's trying to get enough cardio for a workout, but it can happen. I'm coming from the same place you are (lupus) and I find I can get most exercise for cardio in the water and muscle strengthening in the water AND isometrics.
There are also books and on-line resources; especially since so much attention has been paid to exercising lately.
Don't go with the Auschwitz diet plan off 600 calories a day, please.

it sure would be nice if people with nothing more than laymens advice would stick to their chosen fields of study.
you dont say what your current physical condition is, but anything under 1200 calories a day is against ADA standards. the water exercise recommendation is PERFECT for joint stress and swimming really burns calories. if you dont have an eating disorder and are over 20 yrs old you arent likely to get one, however you will become an absolute ( b-word) on 600 calories a day!!!! try 1400-1600 calories of lean proteins, complex (non-sugar) carbs and healthy (unsaturated) fats spread over 4-5 meals per day and you will be on your way. now go the the pool!!!

600 calories/day is not healthy. Sorry, but you could actually gain weight on that, initially. Anyway, here's what you should do. Find a water aerobics class at a local gym. Or a chair aerobics class. Either one doesn't put unnecessary stress on your muscles. Get a healthy eating pattern, forget the calories. Eat at least 4-5 servings of whole grains (such as wheat, peas and corn count here, whole grain cereals: 15 carbs = 1 serving), 3-4 servings of fruit (a serving of most fruits is 3/4 cup, except berries, then go for 1 1/2 cups!, 2-3 ounce servings of lean meat (chicken, fish, protien, eggs count here), 2 servings of milk products (a serving is 8 ounces or 1/2 cup ice cream, be sure to use low/no fat products and sugar free ice cream), One small serving (just place a few in your cupped hand) of nuts or seeds every day, and at least 4-5 servings (one cup = 1 serving) of veggies. Drink at least 8- 8 ounce cups of water daily, get a pedimeter and walk 10,000 steps every day. That should help.

The only reason why it is bad, and no I am not going to give you the DARE lecture is ‘cause everyone has the right to do what they want as it is their own body nor is it anyone’s place to say otherwise. This is a practical health reason. Pot will make you hungry and increases the craving signal and raises sugar levels (the munchies) which means that you will want to eat carbs and lots of it. ‘cause of this signal that makes you have the munchies, you don’t get the signal or recognition that you’re full therefore you keep eating which will add to the calories. It will also dehydrate you which will lead to water retention. What I do suggest is that you can smoke however much you want, however, have at least 2 full glasses of water before hand. Also try and have it as close to bed time so that you’re sleepy rather in the day when the munchy signal lingers.

I don't know what they were meaning but about the 400-600 calorie intake that is true it will help you lose weight. The body only uses that many at a time any thing else it stores.
I work with nutritionalist and doctors in the nutrition field and that is what they say.
I have found an amazing cleansing system that allows the body to release excess weight safely.
