oh... don't listen to people. yeah... its normal.. your cat just loves you. if it doesn't bother you, its not a big deal. unlike dogs, cats mouths are clean.. they have to be to keep themselves sanitary. PLUS they don't eat poop like dogs do!!

if it does bother you, simply pull the kitten away from your face and pet it, maybe give it a toy or your fingers as an alternative.

my cat likes to lay on my chest and lick my chin, cheeks, and lips. i don't mind at all, so i let him do it. however, he understands that my husband doesn't like it, so he only does it with me.

it just means the kitty loves you a lot!!

Inside My Mouth

If you are serious about this, then you should know there is an incredible amount of bacteria in a cats mouth, and you could become very ill. The cat will probably be fine.

Seriously, cats mouths are full of bacteria. Cat bites are very bad for instance. Also, they lick their butts so....try not to encourage the behavior.

My boy kitty used to do something similar to that, but I got him to move from my chin to my fingers. He pretty much outgrew it, but he will still lick my neck sometimes when he misses me. He goes crazy if I'm eating a mint. My girl cat has one blanket that she still nurses on and nothing else.

Do not let him lick inside or around your mouth, that isnt sanitary.... can you imagine where that mouth has been!?! lol.
But... just push him away from now on and he will get hint.

Awww that's cute!! My first pet rat used to do the same.

I guess he just likes the smell and taste of your mouth, and licking you makes him feel safe and comfortable.

if you dont mind him doing it, you can leave him be; but, im thinking he may be looking for salt.... like a dog licking palms and chewing on panties. you could try putting just a pinch of salt on his feed and see if that works.

Just, close your mouth. Pushing him away might teach him. How big is he? Maybe he thinks your his mom?
