I recently handed in an application for a job nearby, and within a week I got a call for an interview.

I thought the interview went extremely well, and the interviewer told me near the end of the interview that the call backs were going to happen maybe that same day or the next.

Right now it's the next day at about 3pm at the very moment. Should I be thinking to give up and continue my search, or wait out this entire day because I'm getting pretty anxious and filled with a lot of anxiety.

Did what he say happen to be a lie about the call backs just to make me feel better? Because it's not working!

I'm seriously thinking about calling back, but should I wait out this day and call tomorrow?

I'm pretty nervous waiting, what do you think is happening? What should I do?

If you need a job, never give up searching just because you think an interview went well. As for the callback, unexpected things always come up in business that can cause delays in even the best plans. I would wait at least until tomorrow to call.

Usually when an employer says, "Don't call us, we'll call you"; that usually means no job. But that is not always the case. If you are not that desperate, wait until tomorrow, or the next day. Most of the time employers do not want you to call them, even sometimes calling can cause you to not get the job, even if they where thinking of hiring you.

Instead of calling E-mail them thanking them for the opportunity of interviewing with them. At this point they might be undecided, or have a few more candidates to interview. By showing your appreciation for this opportunity in this simply way it brings your name back to the forefront.

Interviewers will say anything! Please.........are you new at this or what? Keep searching.........don't just think that the first job you apply for is going to want you.
