I'm shooting for an interview to put pictures on a website. I want to make sure they are crisp and clean. Should I shoot with a flash or no flash so it's not blinding when they interview is taking place?

If i were doing it, i would "stage" the pictures, either before/after the event and try for a candid if there is a natural break in the interview sequence. And use a small on-camera flash.

If it absolutely has to be done in the course of the interview, then flash is not a option. If you have a digital camera, use the automatic settings, especially auto white balance. There needs to be enough light to insure the autofocus works. If you are using film, use ASA 400 speed, and you will need a blue filter to compensate for indoor lighting. In either case the shutter will be slow speed so be careful to keep the camera steady and use widest lens setting.

Use flash indoors.

For professional-looking pics, use a swivel-head flash and bounce the light off the ceiling.

If the ceiling is dark or too high, use a piece of white card to reflect light toward your subject.

If your flash sets the camera's shutter speed automatically, use Av and f8 or so (unless the flash is too weak, in which case open up or raise the ISO).

If your flash doesn't set the speed, go to manual mode, set the shutter speed to sync speed, put the flash on auto and adjust the aperture accordingly.

Hope this helps.
